  • Patent number: 8466434
Abstract: A water purification device (30) is provided for installation in an aircraft potable water system. The device (30) comprises a treatment cell (40) incorporated into the water system's plumbing and a flashlamp (50) positioned to productively transmit into the treatment chamber (41) of the cell (40). The flashlamp (50) emits short-pulse and high-intensity flashes, thereby delivering adequate UV doses (e.g., at least 40 mJ/cm2) with reasonable input power (e.g., 400 watts) for an aircraft system.

  • Publication number: 20070107918
Abstract: A folding system is provided for folding at least one wing extending from a central chassis of each of a plurality of absorbent articles formed from a continuous moving web moving in a longitudinal direction. The folding system has a wing-folding conveyor and at least one elongated, folding plow, which has an entrance end, an exit end and an inner edge that define a twist axis. The folding plow has a contoured surface having a configuration defined by a twist angle that increases along the twist axis from zero degrees near the entrance end to 180 degrees near the exit end. The wing-folding conveyor moves the central chassis along the inner edge of the folding plow and the wing slides against the contoured surface from the entrance end to the exit end, such that the wing folds around the central chassis near the inner edge.

  • Publication number: 20060248192
Abstract: A method by which a digital display having internet capability and a memory in which an original set of digital images is stored and displayed (e.g., as a continuously running slide show) automatically pulls down new digital images across the internet from at least one remote web server so that the new digital images can be shown in place of the original set of digital images without gaining physical access to the digital display. The new digital images on the remote web server are assigned unique internet URLs that resolve to a compatible image format and correspond to internet URLs that are associated with the original set of digital images. If a new digital image has an appropriate URL, then such new digital image is retrieved by the digital display to be displayed in a place of a respective one of the original digital images. Otherwise, a predetermined default image will be displayed on the digital display.
