  • Publication number: 20240137612
Abstract: The present invention discloses improved methods and systems for identifying transitions between programming content and commercial ad content in pre-recorded media files, live digital broadcasts, or streaming media—content streams—that have no ad break markers encoded therein. The process employs iterative, machine learning context models to improve ad break identification accuracy the more it is used. The present invention enables the dynamic replacement of ads already in the content stream with customized ads “on the fly”. The present invention also enables “on the fly” ad skipping in recorded media.

  • Publication number: 20240102086
Abstract: Methods and compositions comprising primers and probes to detect nucleic acids are provided. The probes comprise a ribonucleotide that can be cleaved by an RNase H2 enzyme when the probe is annealed to a reverse complement of a universal sequence that is introduced to a target nucleic acid, for example via amplification.

  • Publication number: 20220049572
Abstract: The frac plug system includes a setting mandrel, a sleeve member, a sealing member, a cone assembly, and a slip device. The setting mandrel includes a plurality of fluid bypass slots. The sleeve member includes a sleeve body with an abutment end. The setting mandrel has a first configuration without fluid flow through the frac plug system, and a second configuration with fluid flow through the frac plug system. The methods of the present invention include running the frac plug system in the first configuration and the sealing member in an extended position for a first setting stage, moving the setting mandrel to the second configuration with the sealing member in an expanded position, and then returning the setting mandrel to the first configuration for a second setting state. If the placement is wrong, the method includes removing the frac plug system in the first setting stage.

  • Patent number: 11188133
Abstract: The present disclosure describes a system 400 for transmitting power to a remote Power over Ethernet (PoE) subsystem by forwarding Powered Device (PD) input voltage where the subsystem includes a PD and a Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) device. Included is a master PSE device 402, a first subsystem 410, and a second subsystem 428. The first subsystem 410 includes a first PD 418 that includes a first power switching device 426 and a first PSE device 424. The first power switching device 426 forwards the input power from the first PD 418 to the first PSE 424 without disturbing the PoE handshaking between the devices. The first power switching device 426 uses a switching device with level detection that detects the required input voltage. The second subsystem 428 receives the power from the first subsystem's 410 first PSE device 424. And the second subsystem 428 operates in a manner similar to the first subsystem 410.

  • Patent number: 9939545
Abstract: A metal detection system for a portable radio is provided. The metal detection system comprises a magnet coupled to a substrate, such as a belt, the magnet generating a magnetic field. The system further comprises a magnetometer coupled to the substrate, the magnetometer measuring changes in the magnet's magnetic field strength indicative of metal accessories being within a predetermined proximity of the magnet. The removal of accessories, such as law enforcement accessories (for example handcuffs) can be detected. The portable radio detects changes to the magnetic field in response to changes in location of the metal accessories. The portable radio can transmit a signal in response to accessories being removed from the substrate.

  • Patent number: 9666056
Abstract: A communication system (100) provides a wearable firearm detection system comprising a first body area network (BAN) node (120) coupled to the firearm, a second BAN node (122) coupled to a body wearable apparatus, such as a holster, and a third BAN node (124) coupled to a portable radio (150). The first BAN node detects the presence or absence of the firearm in and out of the holster and communicates the presence or absence of the firearm to the third BAN node coupled to the radio. In response to the firearm being withdrawn from the holster, the radio can enable one or more actions such as an alert to the user, an alert to a dispatch center (170), or enabling a recording (140) of firearm movement.

  • Patent number: 9564032
Abstract: A security system (100) protects a secured item by a lock which is under the control of a lock control unit (108). Predetermined parameters associated with various users and user equipment are stored in the lock control unit (108). The predetermined parameters are weighted to provide different levels of lock access. When a user (116) makes contact with the secured item through a BAN device, a user configuration database is transmitted from a user's PAN device to the controller for comparison with the predetermined parameters. Lock (104) access can be modified for different authorized users.

  • Patent number: 8395516
Abstract: An air freshening device is provided for detecting water leaks and protecting surfaces from water damage due to leaks. The device includes: a tray, configured for being placed upon a surface located under a water pipe; a removable and replaceable liner placed upon the tray, the liner comprising a material configured for releasing an air freshening substance into air, and for increasing the release rate of the substance upon contact with water. The increase of the release rate of the substance leads to an intensifying of the scent of the substance in air, and indicates the presence of a leak from the water pipe. The tray prevents water leaking from the water pipe from touching the surface.
