  • Patent number: 9747722
Abstract: Methods, systems and apparatus are provided for generating visual instruction to a user of a system, such as for exercise instruction or rehabilitation purposes. Preferably, the system includes a user imaging system with the system generating an output adapted to couple to a display device. The systems and methods serve to guide a user body motion. In one preferred embodiment, the method includes the steps of receiving first user positional information from the user imaging system, and then generating a first mirror image of the user positional information. Additionally, the method includes generating a first instructional image having the same positional orientation as the first mirror image of the user positional information. Finally, the method and system generate a composite output display including the first mirror image of the user positional information and the first instructional image.

  • Publication number: 20140338348
Abstract: This invention relates to devices for discharging high pressure exhaust, and in particular to pulse detonation engines. More specifically, the invention describes a rotary pulse detonation engine having a rotary valve system. The rotary valve includes a generally-triangular rotor having rotor tips within a rotor chamber having trochoid inner end surfaces and side surfaces. The rotor defines three working chambers defined by the rotor tips contacting the rotor surfaces. In operation, the rotor tips move in a circumferential direction around the rotor chamber as the rotor spins. During operation, each of the working chambers will sequentially pass through an intake interval, compression interval, expansion interval, and an exhaust interval to create and detonate compressed fuel air mixtures for effective release to an exhaust chamber and nozzle thereby creating a pulsed detonation sequence.

  • Patent number: 7977090
Abstract: An open-topped container (10) is sealed by a cap (12) to the underside of which is fixed a sealed enclosure (13) containing a fixative solution. At the end of the enclosure remote from the cap is a receptacle (14) for a fecal specimen and this is surrounded by protrusions (15) of the enclosure which are ruptured by teeth (22) surrounding an uppermost filter (19) as the cap is screwed on. The fixative solution escapes from the enclosure, mixes with the fecal matter and passes through filters so that parasitic eggs are collected in the conical false bottom (23) of the container. During the final travel of the cap skirts engage the non-perforated periphery (21) of the upper filter to prevent the fixative solution flowing back into the enclosure when the container is inverted. The filtrate can be poured or pippetted out of the container through its spout (24).

  • Publication number: 20080141360
Abstract: Computer communications with security marked information use a wireless link between a receiving network (RN) and a computer (WLT1) each running VPN wire-link security software and wireless-link security software. A physical LAN in the network (RN) is subdivided into logical management and communications LANs. The management LAN manages a switch (L3S), access point (AP), RADIUS server (RS) and Certificate server (CS). The access point (AP) is managed only by management LAN items. The switch (L3S) ensures message traffic from management LAN ports goes only to other such ports; it and the access point (AP) are managed only by the RADIUS server via SSH. The access point (AP) contacts the RADIUS server (RS) to authenticate user certificates and receives SSH traffic only. The management LAN is synchronized to an NTP server. The communications LAN allows an authenticated computer (WLT1) to communicate with a classified WAN (N1). Message traffic does not go to the RADIUS server (RS) or Certificate server (CS).

  • Publication number: 20080077807
Abstract: Computer hard disk security comprises encrypting data on a computer's hard disk with a cryptographic key depending partly on computer memory contents, RAM and/or BIOS memory. Memory contents changing with time are excluded. The SHA-1 algorithm cryptographically hashes the memory contents giving a hash for XORing with a user password. XORing provides a result which is used as a password for an encryption unit implementing a conventional full disk encryption technique, such as XORing the password with a hard disk dock number. The key is generated with the BIOS memory configured so that the computer boots only from the hard disk. Hostile alteration of the BIOS memory contents results in failure to decrypt because the key now cannot be used to decrypt the hard disk. This defeats an attacker who alters BIOS settings in an attack with rogue computer boot media such as a floppy disk or a CD ROM.

  • Publication number: 20070074026
Abstract: Detection of items stored in a computer system such as computer code, data or information includes obtaining signatures characteristic of programs of interest such as stenanographic programs. A signature is obtained by reading code from a program of interest. The code may consist of the first 500 bytes from a .DDL file taken from the programs' core steganogrpahic kernel. This code is then the signature. The computer systems compares the signature with files it holds, other than files on a prearranged exclusion list. If a signature is found to match data in a file, the filename, the finding of steganography in it, the file location and the matched signature are recorded by the computer system for output to its user.
