    Abstract: The present subject matter relates to systems, assemblies, and methods for the installation of insulation on the outside surface of exterior metal stud walls. In such systems, assemblies, and methods, an insulation framing element comprises an insulation support member configured to support an edge of one or more insulation layers, a frame coupling member extending from the insulation support member and configured for coupling to one or more frame elements of a structural support wall, and an insulation retention member extending from the insulation support member and configured to retain the edge of the one or more the insulation layers in a desired position with respect to the insulation support member.
