  • Patent number: 4980796
Abstract: A gas ionization system for use in an enclosure having an inlet and an outlet. The system includes at least a pair of spaced electrodes, each electrode being formed of a wire screen, and the wire screens being parallel to each other. A stream of gas is passed through the enclosure and between and parallel to the wire screen electrodes. An electrical power source applies positive and negative voltages to the electrodes to generate an electric field between. The wire screen electrodes have discharge points for field emission of electrons. Free electrons are movable between the electrodes in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction of travel of the gas stream. The intensity of the electric field is sufficiently large to cause substantially all free electrons in the electric field other than those electrons which ionize gas molecules to be retained in the space between the electrodes.

  • Patent number: 4953848
Abstract: The room 10 has a front wall 12 having at least one transparent window 22. The room 10 also has a ceiling 18 that slants from a high end 26 at or adjacent the front wall 12 to a low end 28 removed from the front wall 12. The ceiling 18 has an aperture 30 in it. There is a concave dome 32 on the outside of the ceiling 18 that covers the aperture, and the inside surface of the concave dome 32 is light reflecting. Lights 36 shine appropriate colors on the light reflecting inside surface 34 of the concave dome 32. The lights 36 are concealed from a viewer 24 located on the outside of the front wall 12.

  • Patent number: 4714432
Abstract: A hermetic seal is formed of a compound which is applied with low viscosity to a form located between a center contact and a body of a coaxial connector. The compound is cured without heat or pressure by subjecting it to ultraviolet light. The viscous material completely seals the coaxial connector and when hardened forming an excellent hermetic seal. Apparatus for holding the coaxial connectors vertical to receive the compound is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4677704
Abstract: A system for removing extremely fine specks of contaminants from a surface by means of applying air-borne vibrations to the speck coincident with creation of a neutral static charge acting on the speck.

  • Patent number: 4630167
Abstract: A system and method for neutralizing a static charge using positive and negative ion discharge units. These units are operated alternately at a rate inversely proportional to the static voltage detected. The system and method operates the ion discharge units in a manner discharging a substantially equal number of positive and negative ions to travel at a selected velocity differential therebetween to selectively modulate the neutralization of ions in transit.
