Patent number: 8844657Abstract: A stand on mower includes a left foot pedal and a right foot pedal. Each foot pedal is spaced from the other and is dimensioned to support one of the operator's feet. Each foot pedal is biased to a neutral position generally parallel to a horizontal surface of a foot platform located generally between or behind a pair of traction drive wheels. The left foot pedal and the right foot pedal pivot independently forwardly and rearwardly to forward and reverse traction drive positions, and are connected to a pair of wheel motors respectively that rotate each of the traction drive wheels in either forward or reverse based on the traction drive positions of the foot pedals.Type: GrantFiled: February 19, 2013Date of Patent: September 30, 2014Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventor: Richard Hugo Clark

Publication number: 20100148896Abstract: A magnetic mounting system for wet environments suitable for use with magnetically attracted and non-magnetically attracted vertical surfaces, having a nonporous sealed compartment with a container support and a surface-contacting face, and enclosing a magnetically attracted material. The magnetically attracted material can be a ferrous metal plate used in combination with a hidden permanent magnet attached to the opposite side of a non-magnetically attracted vertical surface by a repositionable mounting means. The magnetically attracted material can also be a permanent magnet used with a magnetically attracted surface, or a permanent magnet used in combination with a repositionably mounted hidden ferrous metal plate or hidden permanent magnet depending upon the thickness of a non-magnetically attracted surface. The surface-contacting face may have vertical channels for draining away moisture, and the container support may be formed to be unitary with a container, or include a container attachment means.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 17, 2008Publication date: June 17, 2010Inventor: Richard Hugo

Publication number: 20100101469Abstract: Left and right main hoppers offset laterally from each other on opposite sides of the centerline of a seeding machine provide an operator access area between the hoppers. A third hopper located forwardly of and between the two main hoppers has a capacity less than that of each of the main hoppers for refuge or male seed. The hoppers are sized to maximize productivity. In one embodiment, first and second hoppers communicate with downstream conduit structure, and valve structure selects one or the other of the first and second hoppers for delivery of the material. The valve structure can be operated remotely and can be map based. Alternatviely, selectively blockable nozzle structure is located in the first and second hoppers. Easily changeable connector structure facilitates row pattern selection and hose routing.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 6, 2010Publication date: April 29, 2010Inventors: Donald Keith Landphair, Christopher Allen Myers, Patrick Eugene Pinkston, Richard Hugo Clark, Chris Warren Foster, Chad Erik Braden, Robert Wallace Martin

Patent number: 6688242Abstract: A seeding machine comprises a main frame segment and left and right wing frame segments. In its working configuration the wing frame segments extend transversely. In its transport configuration the wing frame segments are folded forwardly. The wing frame segments are provided with a rear rank of planting units that are mounted to the wing frame segments by pivot arms that extend downwardly and rearwardly. The pivot arms are pivotally mounted to the wing frame segments by a rock shaft. The rock shaft is provided with an actuator bell crank that is coupled to a linear actuator for rotating the rock shaft relative to the wing frame segments. The pivot arms have a working position, wherein the planting units are in their working position, and a transport position, wherein the planting units have been pivoted on their noses into their substantially vertical transport position to reduce the transverse transport width of the seeding machine.Type: GrantFiled: December 18, 2001Date of Patent: February 10, 2004Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventors: Bradley John Meyer, Thomas LeRoy Hall, Robert Edwin Bennett, Richard Hugo Clark, William Douglas Graham

Patent number: 6068062Abstract: A flexible frame structure for an implement includes a wing frame section with several fore-and-aft spaced, transversely extending rank tubes that are connected to surrounding support structure with conventional, non-resilient pin joints for rotation about a fore-and-aft extending horizontal rank axis. A transversely extending rear rank tube is rigidly connected to a fore-and-aft extending caster wheel support frame which extends forwardly above the ends of the rank tubes. A caster wheel projects forwardly from the end of the support frame out of interfering relationship with the forward tool-carrying rank. The rear rank tube and caster wheel support frame define a rigid L-shaped member which is connected to the adjacent frame section by a conventional pin and pivot structure for rotation about a first axis corresponding to the rank axis, and a second axis perpendicular to the forward direction.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 1998Date of Patent: May 30, 2000Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventors: Shane Julius Brueggen, Robert Edwin Bennett, William Douglas Graham, Richard Hugo Clark

Patent number: 5988293Abstract: A stroke limiting structure for use with a lift control system on an implement includes a reciprocating link operably connected to a hydraulic cylinder and to a lift wheel assembly on an implement frame section. The link is connected by a lost motion connection to depth gauging structure including gauge plates pivotally supported on a carrier. The plates are rotatable between disengaged and engaging positions without need for tools and are maintained together on the carrier to eliminate loose parts that could be misplaced or lost. The plates in the engaging position determine the lowermost position of the implement and provide a positive mechanical stop for the implement to eliminate depth control problems caused by cylinder leakage or the like. The lost motion connection eliminates unwanted movement of the plate carrier and facilitates gauge plate pivoting for depth adjustments.Type: GrantFiled: May 12, 1998Date of Patent: November 23, 1999Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventors: Shane Julius Brueggen, Robert Edwin Bennett, William Douglas Graham, Richard Hugo Clark, Loyd Thomas Hubbard, Jr.
