  • Patent number: 5209407
Abstract: A spray nozzle for an electric iron includes a nozzle cap having an outlet orifice formed in an end wall thereof. The cap includes an axially extending cylindrical wall defining an axially extending bore. A fluid delivery tube is provided in the bore. The inside surface of the end wall includes at least two circumferentially spaced raised pads. The sides of adjacent pads define slots therebetween. A substantially flat disc-like member is disposed in the bore adjacent the pads. The diameter of the member is somewhat less than the diameter of the bore to define a circumferentially extending groove. The opposed surfaces of the end wall and the member define a cavity. The pads define the radially inner circumferential border of the cavity. The slots formed between adjacent pads are disposed on lines that are tangent to the cavity. The end of the fluid delivery tube is notched to form "V"-shaped surfaces.

  • Patent number: 5136796
Abstract: A combination pump and spray or surge function selector valve for an electric iron comprises a valve stem having a user operated member on a first end and a valve member with an angled sealing surface on a second end. A housing is spaced circumferentially about the valve member and includes a first water inlet and a pair of water outlets in fluid flow communication with said inlet. The stem is movable in a first direction relative to the housing so that the angled sealing surface selectively connects the water inlet with a selected one of the outlets while discontinuing communication between the inlet and the other of said outlets. The stem is movable in a second direction relative to the housing to pump water from the inlet to the selected one water outlet.

  • Patent number: 4682968
Abstract: A creature figure toy has an extensible tongue component, which may cooperate with the string by which it is secured to provide a trap for capturing objects. Abrupt retraction of the tongue component may be effected by pulling a tail component, attached to a second string, the effective length of which may be multiplied by a unique arrangement of tumblers and spools disposed within the body of the toy.

  • Patent number: 4674989
Abstract: An armed toy creature figure has an axe-like element pivotably mounted along its back, which strikes forwardly when disengaged. The plunger for actuating the striker element is associated with the holder by which the figure is supported on the operator's hand, and the figure has flexible legs which carry ring pieces for receiving the tips of the operator's fingers, to permit convenient animation thereof.

  • Patent number: 4654018
Abstract: A creature figure toy includes a launching device for a flying object. The object is seated within an enclosure formed by wings simulated on the body of the device, in which position high-speed rotation can be imparted to it. When the operator wishes to release the object, the actuating lever is moved to a stroke limit position, whereupon the enclosing wings spring open to permit exit of the object.

  • Patent number: 4630756
Abstract: A liquid squirting simulated creature is comprised of a front section having a body, legs and head, and a rear section which is assembled thereto. The front section is comprised of top and bottom elements defining a cavity therebetween and front and rear apertures, as well as apertures extending along the sides thereof through which a multiplicity of legs extend. The rear section is a resiliently compressible bulbous member providing a chamber therewithin to contain fluid and having a neck portion extending through the aperture in the rear wall of the front section. A tubular conduit is seated in an opening in the neck portion of the rear section and extends to a front aperture in the front section so as to provide the conduit for discharge of fluid from the chamber therethrough. The leg members are comprised of a web on each side interconnecting a multiplicity of legs on that side of the front section, and flexible portions which extend through apertures along the sides of the front section.

  • Patent number: 4576586
Abstract: A cord-climbing simulated creature has a body comprised of a bottom section and a top section with apertures on each side through which extend legs from a common web member disposed on each side. On the outer surface of the top section of the creature's body is an upstanding post. A winch assembly in the body includes a housing and a winch which has a pair of axially spaced winch sections of different diameter. An elongated flexible string member extends about the smaller diameter winch section and out the front end of the simulated creature and has its outer end attached to a hook element. The opposite end of the string-like member extends about the larger diameter winch section and out through the rear of the creature's body and its outer end is secured to a spool which is adapted to coil the string-like member thereabout and to seat on the post formed on the body member.

  • Patent number: 4575349
Abstract: A winged creature employs a push-button member that is reciprocated to simulate a flapping action of wing elements, which can be provided by a one-piece member rigidly affixed to the push-button member. The wing elements are constructed for pivotable movement, and the edges of the push-button member traversed thereby will advantageously be configured to provide a smooth transition, so as to facilitate such movement.
