  • Patent number: 6020321
Abstract: Agonists of the adenosine A.sub.2 receptor promote the migration of endothelial cells, fibroblasts and epithelial cells. Thus, methods and pharmaceutical compositions useful for treating wounds and promoting wound healing comprise agents which cause stimulation of the adenosine A.sub.2 receptor, preferably receptor agonists and adenosine uptake blockers. Preferred agonists include 2-phenylaminoadenosine, 2-para-2-carboxyethylphenyl-amino-5'N-ethylcarboxamidoadenosine, 5'N-ethylcarbox-amidoadenosine, 5'N-cyclo-propyladenosine, 5'N-methylcarboxamidoadenosine and PD-125944. Preferred uptake blockers include dipyridamole, nitrobenzylthio-inosine, dilazep and R75231.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 3, 1999
Date of Patent: February 1, 2000
    Assignee: New York University
Inventors: Bruce N. Cronstein, Richard I. Levin

  • Patent number: 5724580
Abstract: A system and method of automatically formulating an alpha-numeric comprehensive management and prognosis report at a centralized data management center for a patient at a remote location is defined comprising: means for converting information regarding the condition of the patient into data; a first telecommunications means for transferring data to the centralized data management center; and processing means at the centralized data management center for receiving the data and for generating the comprehensive management and prognosis report based on analysis of the data. A storage means is also provided at the centralized data management center for maintaining a record of the data received by and transmitted from the centralized data management center in a relational data base format.

  • Patent number: 4679144
Abstract: An apparatus for monitoring EKG information includes a programmable apparatus carried by an ambulatory patient for performing continuous, real-time analyses of EKG information derived from the patient. The apparatus facilitates the determination of the existence of various conditions based on these analyses which portend cardiac complications including myocardial ischemia, and arrhythemia activity and further instructs the patient on the manner of treatment required for the detected condition.
