Patent number: 12115080Abstract: A total knee implant prosthesis is disclosed. The total knee implant prosthesis includes a tibial component including a pair of bearing surfaces and a post positioned between the bearing surfaces, and a femoral component configured to rotate relative to the tibial component. The femoral component includes a pair of condyles sized and shaped to articulate on the bearing surfaces and a cam positioned between the pair of condyles. The cam engages the post at a first contact point when the femoral component is at 0 degrees of flexion and engages the post at a second contact point located lateral of the first contact point when the femoral component is at a first degree of flexion greater than 0 degrees. The cam is disengaged from the post when the femoral component is at a second degree of flexion greater than the first degree of flexion.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 2021Date of Patent: October 15, 2024Assignee: DEPUY IRELAND UNLIMITED COMPANYInventors: Chadd W. Patent number: 4936775Abstract: Dental cements and abrasives are provided which are polymerizable with visible light. Such adhesives may be applied in thinner films than heretofore possible and demonstrate superior physical properties. Processes employing such materials are disclosed wherein the polymerization of the adhesive is accomplished by transmitting visible light through tooth or other structures to effect the adhesion.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 1988Date of Patent: June 26, 1990Assignee: Dentsply Research & Development, Corp.Inventor: Richard J. Bennett

Patent number: 4842694Abstract: Apparatus for purifying, devolatilizing and/or sheeting a thermoplastic material in which a high density, flowable heat exchange material, having a density substantially above the density of the thermoplastic material and which is essentially immiscible therewith, is continuously circulated through a contact zone in a manner to maintain an extended surface area body of the high density heat exchange material in the contact zone, the thermoplastic material is introduced into and withdrawn from the contact zone in a manner to form a continuously flowing layer of the thermoplastic material across the surface of the body of high density heat exchange material. Thermoplastic material may be introduced into the contact vessel as a powder, melted in an intermediate section of the contact vessel, resolidified at the opposite end of the contact vessel and withdrawn as a sheet of thermoplastic material.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 1987Date of Patent: June 27, 1989Assignee: Phillips Petroleum CompanyInventor: Richard J. Patent number: 4721735Abstract: Novel compositions, especially light curable compositions, are provided which are coherent, but frangible when cured. Preferred compositions comprising a major proportion of inert, preferably inorganic filler material, polymerizable resin and frangibility enhancing material are provided which are light curable. The materials are particularly useful for "temporary" dental fillings and removable endodontic fillings. The cured materials are easily dissected, comminuted and removed as desired after curing without trauma to the filled teeth.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 1986Date of Patent: January 26, 1988Assignee: Dentsply Research and Development CorporationInventors: Richard J. Bennett, Robert V. Hare

Patent number: 4710217Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method for developing a bond having a shear strength in excess of 1200 psi between dental cements and dental appliances fashioned from glass-ceramic materials. The inventive method consists of contacting the fitting surface of the appliance with an etchant in flowable gel form at a temperature below about 150.degree. F., while protecting the exterior surface of the appliance. Subsequently, a silane solution followed by a dental cement is applied to the etched surface and cured in place.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 1986Date of Patent: December 1, 1987Assignee: Corning Glass WorksInventors: Lorraine F. Patent number: 4514174Abstract: Novel processes for the restoration of teeth particularly posterior teeth, wherein the use of a matrix band is required, are provided employing one component, packable, actinic light curable, resin-based restorative compositions. Such methods are now capable, for the time, of employing resin-based restoratives in the posterior restoration of teeth wherein the packability of the restorative composition enable the deformation of a matrix to allow substantial restoration of the original conformation of the tooth. Packable one component actinic light curable resin-based restorative compositions are provided.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 1982Date of Patent: April 30, 1985Assignee: Dentsply Research & Development Corp.Inventors: Emery W.
