  • Publication number: 20130275420
Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for conducting a document search based on metaprints is provided. A plurality of metaprints comprising metadata keywords and associated frequencies of occurrence of the metadata keywords within a plurality of documents are maintained. A search query is received and executed against the metaprints. The metadata keywords that match the query are identified and the metaprints associated with the matched metadata keywords are obtained. A further search query is generated based on the obtained metaprints and is applied to a set of documents. Those documents that match the frequencies of occurrence associated with the obtained metaprints are identified.

  • Patent number: 8447758
Abstract: A system and method for identifying documents matching a document metaprint is provided. A search query comprising one or more search terms is received from a user. One or more metadata keywords matching the one more search terms is identified. A metaprint is retrieved for each of the matching metadata keywords. A metaprint query is generated from the retrieved metadata fingerprints. The metaprint query is executed against a corpus of documents. Search results comprising documents matching the metaprint query are obtained.

  • Patent number: 7730113
Abstract: A network-based system and method processes and analyzes email messages that have been communicated by parties involved in a legal proceeding. The email messages (or other electronic files) of the parties are delivered to a plurality of server units: metadata of the email messages (such as conversational thread information, directory path information, and other properties information) are directed a first server unit, contents of the email messages are directed to a second server unit, and read-only copies of the email messages are provided in a third server unit. If the email messages (or other electronic files) contain duplicate information, the duplicative email message is linked to an email message that has already been delivered to the server units.

  • Patent number: 7693866
Abstract: A system and method stores electronic legal documents, such as email messages, in a database system such that electronic characteristics associated a native format of the electronic legal documents are substantially preserved. The electronic characteristics that are preserved include metadata and conversational threading information, directory path information, attachments, and other electronic document information. Once in the database system, the stored electronic legal documents are indexed and can be searched by users at terminals. The users at the terminals are provided with access to the database system via a server. The terminals have user interfaces to provide the users with a variety of searching, processing, and saving capabilities, including the ability to follow conversation threads, view attachments, and index and retrieve selected electronic legal documents in a manner that allows use of the stored electronic characteristics.

  • Patent number: 6444726
Abstract: A composition, eg a water-based polymer emulsion, cosmetics and the like, is preserved against microorganism growth, by incorporation of from 5-1000 ppm of an inorganic biocidal component which comprises a sparingly soluble silver compound deposited on a synthetic oxidic support.
