  • Publication number: 20110164128
Abstract: A method and system for sizing an earpiece include situating a calibration device proximate a user's ear. The user holds an image capture device so as to aim the image capture device at the user's ear. The user then touches and holds a random area of the touch screen display and releases the touch screen display to activate the image capture device and capture an image of the user's ear and the calibration device. The captured image is then analyzed and an earpiece size is determined based on the analysis of the image.

  • Publication number: 20100296664
Abstract: A system and method for providing earpieces includes an inventory of earpieces having a plurality of parameters and a device for making a non-contact ear measurement. An earpiece is selected from the inventory based on the non-contact measurement.

  • Patent number: 5462183
Abstract: A tamper-evident closure is provided with a base having a deck with a discharge aperture. A lid is included for covering the discharge aperture on the base. The lid defines a latch aperture. The base has a resilient locking lever that projects from the base deck and through the lid latch aperture when the lid is closed. The lever engages the lid and holds the lid closed. A tamper-indicating element is provided on the lid to prevent operation of the lever. The element is attached to the lid with frangible portions which can be broken when sufficient force is applied to remove at least a part of the element and permit operation of the lever whereby another part of the element remains on the lid to provide evidence that part of the element has been removed.

  • Patent number: 5379926
Abstract: A dispensing closure is provided with a body having an outlet passage. A sleeve is mounted on the body for rotation relative to the body. The sleeve has a transverse deck defining a discharge passage for communicating with the body outlet passage as the discharge passage moves in an arc relative to the body. In one embodiment, a seal is provided between the sleeve deck and the body around the outlet passage and discharge passage. In a preferred embodiment, an actuator is mounted on the sleeve for rotation with the sleeve. Engaging structures are defined by the body and actuator for tilting actuator between a closed position and an open position while the actuator is rotated with the sleeve. The actuator includes engaging portions for engagement with drive members projecting upwardly from the body through openings in the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 5356017
Abstract: A child-resistant closure is provided with a base having a deck with a discharge aperture. A lid having a bottom surface for engaging the base is hingedly connected to the base. The base has a resilient locking lever that projects the base deck at a location inwardly of the periphery of the base. The lever defines a shoulder. The lid has a central cover panel defining an aperture inwardly of the periphery of the lid for receiving the lever when the lid is closed. The lid defines a latch surface adjacent the aperture for confronting the base lever shoulder when the lid is closed. The periphery of the lid defines a finger-engaging surface laterally offset relative to the lid aperture, and the finger-engaging surface extends progressively outwardly with increasing distance from the lid bottom surface. The portion of the base that extends from the hinge connection is configured to project peripherally outwardly at least as far as the lid bottom surface when the lid is closed.

  • Patent number: 5279451
Abstract: A dispensing closure is provided for a container and includes a base for being mounted to the container over the container opening. An actuator is mounted on the base and is tiltable between a closed position and an open position. A ring is mounted on the base for rotation relative to the base and actuator. The ring and base together cooperatively define a cam drive system for effecting the tilting of the actuator.

  • Patent number: 4621345
Abstract: A soft error protection circuit is disclosed for a storage cell, such as a latch having a first input/output node and a second input/output node which are respectively connected to a charging source, the first node being selectively charged at least during a write interval, to represent a stored, first binary logic state for the latch. The circuit includes an insulated gate, field effect capacitor having a diffusion electrode connected to the second node and having a gate electrode, for selectively loading the second node with an additional capacitance. An inverter circuit has an input connected to the second node and an output connected to the gate electrode of the capacitor, for applying a capacitance enhancing bias to the gate electrode in at least a read interval following the write interval, when the first binary logic state has been stored in the latch, to apply the additional capacitance to the second node.

  • Patent number: 4591738
Abstract: A substrate voltage generator is disclosed which provides over 1.5 times as much current for a given size circuit, as has been capable with prior art substrate voltage generators. This is achieved by means of a high capacitance per unit area charge pumping capacitor having a triple plate structure and further through the space saving technique of providing a dual use for the source diffusion of the current sinking device in the circuit so as to also serve as the guard ring around the charge pumping circuit of the substrate voltage generator. These and other features of the substrate voltage generator circuit enable relatively large quantities of current to be supplied for maintaining the substrate voltage in large dimension VLSI chips having significant diffusion leakage currents.
