  • Patent number: 10795802
Abstract: Systems and methods for a real time embedded trace are provided. In certain embodiments, a system for acquiring data that uses a real time embedded trace includes a first computing system. The first computing system includes a memory unit; and a processing unit executing software, wherein the software comprises at least one real time trace instruction. Further, the at least one real time trace instruction directs the processing unit to directly store data onto the memory unit; and wherein the stored data is translated for a user after it is stored onto the memory unit.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 19, 2015
Date of Patent: October 6, 2020
    Assignee: Honeywell International Inc.
Inventors: Richard J. Eckert, Jon Peters, Ho Yin Tam, Aaron Solorzano

  • Patent number: 8284674
Abstract: A method includes selecting a first communications network from a plurality of communications networks based on one or more aircraft state inputs. The one or more aircraft state inputs include at least one of a flight phase, a flight event, an aircraft position, an aircraft trajectory, an aircraft state, and an aircraft distance from a ground station. The method further includes transmitting data over the first communication network. The method further includes selecting a second communications network from the plurality of communications networks based on a change in the one or more aircraft state inputs.

  • Patent number: 7835734
Abstract: An avionics communication system comprises a wireless router located on an aircraft and configured to transceive wireless signals; and a processing unit located in the aircraft and configured to supply the wireless router with configuration parameters after determining it is time to connect to a ground network, the configuration parameters based on the location of the aircraft; wherein the wireless router uses the configuration parameters to establish a wireless connection with the ground network and route data from at least one client application on the aircraft to at least one ground application server.

  • Patent number: 7729263
Abstract: A method for routing aircraft data link messages over a plurality of communications networks is disclosed. The method assigns at least one data link message routing service for an aircraft having a first message processing application based on prescribed criteria, the prescribed criteria comprising preferred networks of the plurality of communications networks. As a first preferred communications network becomes available, the method selects a first message route from the assigned routing service and transmits each of the data link messages on the first message route while the first message route satisfies the prescribed criteria. When the prescribed criteria changes over a plurality of flight phases of the aircraft, the method reassigns the at least one data link message route to continue data link message transmissions to and from the aircraft based on the latest prescribed criteria.

  • Patent number: 7512714
Abstract: An ACARS messaging system according to the invention is deployed when a TCP/IP subnetwork is available to the aircraft. ACARS messages are encoded into ASN.1 notation and translated to become compliant with the TCP/IP suite of protocols. A wireless subnetwork provides the initial access point to establish the TCP/IP datalink for the ACARS message traffic. The system allows transmission of ACARS messages using low cost and high bandwidth TCP/IP networks in lieu of the private networks that carry conventional ACARS messages.
