  • Patent number: 5259430
Abstract: This invention provides an improved aircraft wheel rim wherein a demountable tire bead flange has an annular chamfer within the outboard end of the flange bore, and a split lockring which cooperates to maintain the flange on the wheel rim body has an outer surface chamfer which matches the flange bore chamfer, the angle of the flange bore and lockring surface chamfers being determined by the coefficient of friction of the material comprising the wheel rim assembly such that a compressive wedge-locking load force exists at the chamfer joint as may be imposed by inflation of a rim-mounted tire.

  • Patent number: 4635695
Abstract: A split retaining ring 60 locking a separable tire bead flange 14 on a wheel rim 10 has inboard 60a and outboard 60b facing portions and circumferentially aligned terminal ends 40, 50, each terminal end characterized by a drilled-through bore 46, 56 extending in the axial direction of the ring from the inboard facing portion to the outboard facing portion. A lockwire 70 is positioned through each drilled bore 46, 56 to retain the terminal ends 40, 50 of the split ring in a predetermined circumferential spaced-apart relationship.

  • Patent number: 4259917
Abstract: A foldable mast assembly for sailboats wherein a main mast is pivotably connected to a stub mast which is pivotally connected to a base secured to the sailboat deck. A removable pin extends between the stub mast and base whereby the main mast and stub mast may be folded to an inoperative position substantially parallel to the main deck and centered approximately lengthwise of the sailboat. The folding and raising of the main and stub masts are controlled by a cable reeved through sheaves carried on the main and stub masts, one end of the cable being connected to the fore deck near the bow of the sailboat and the other end connected to a power winch on the aft deck of the sailboat. In smaller sailboats, having small masts where cables and sheaves are not required, the folding and raising of the main and stub masts can be accomplished manually.

  • Patent number: 4190744
Abstract: In producing conference connections between, in each case, three conference parties in a PCM time multiplex switching system, sum code words formed of PCM words supplied by the respective remaining conference parties, possibly after conversion thereof into linear code representations and reconversion into non-linear code representations subsequent to summation, are fed to the conference parties. For each conference party a coordinated memory cell, which is selectively triggered not only during writing but also during reading is engaged in two equal-sized halves of an information memory. The PCM words delivered by the conference parties are written into the engaged memory cell of the first half of the information memory during the time position in which they occur and the PCM word located in the cell is, in the process, not only fed to an adder as a first input magnitude, but also read into the relevant engaged memory cell of the second half of the information memory.
