  • Publication number: 20240133513
Abstract: A clamp includes a fixed gripper, a moveable gripper, a driven member, an actuator, and first and second tracks. The driven member is configured to slide within the first and second tracks. The moveable gripper is operatively coupled to the driven member. The actuator is configured to move the driven member towards a first position to thereby move the moveable gripper towards the fixed gripper. The actuator is further configured to move the driven member towards a second position to thereby move the moveable gripper away from the fixed gripper.

  • Patent number: 11964126
Abstract: A wearable infusion pump assembly includes a reservoir for receiving an infusible fluid, and an external infusion set configured to deliver the infusible fluid to a user. A fluid delivery system is configured to deliver the infusible fluid from the reservoir to the external infusion set. The fluid delivery system includes a volume sensor assembly, and a pump assembly for extracting a quantity of infusible fluid from the reservoir and providing the quantity of infusible fluid to the volume sensor assembly. The volume sensor assembly is configured to determine the volume of at least a portion of the quantity of fluid. The fluid delivery system further includes at least one optical sensor assembly configured to sense the movement of the pump assembly, a first valve assembly configured to selectively isolate the pump assembly from the reservoir, and a second valve assembly configured to selectively isolate the volume sensor assembly from the external infusion set.

  • Publication number: 20220109344
Abstract: A deflector is disclosed for deflecting air flow in a rotating electrical machine comprising a stator (8), stator windings (10) and a housing (12). The deflector comprises a sheet of material folded to form a deflecting portion (42) and a connecting portion (44). The deflecting portion (42) is arranged to deflect airflow from a gap (14) between the stator and the housing towards the stator windings (10). The connecting portion comprises one or more apertures (48; 52; 54; 56; 58) adjacent to the deflecting portion. The aperture helps to reduce or avoid the Coand{hacek over (a)} effect, and thereby improve the impingement of cooling air on the stator end windings.

  • Publication number: 20110260566
Abstract: A rotor disc is disclosed for an axial flux permanent magnet rotating electrical machine. The rotor disc (12) comprises a plurality of laminations in a radial direction through the rotor disc, and a plurality of slots which pass radially through successive laminations for accommodating permanent magnets (14). The rotor disc may be formed from a spirally wound strip of material, or from groups of laminations.

  • Publication number: 20100310629
Abstract: Certain embodiments provide a method, of treating or reducing a risk of postoperative cardiac arrhythmia, including: creating an opening in a mammal's body; advancing a releasing member from outside the body, through the opening, and toward the mammal's heart; positioning the releasing member between a visceral layer and a parietal layer of pericardium of the mammal's heart; and at least partially closing the opening in the body, leaving the releasing member in the pericardial space. In certain embodiments, the releasing member releases an antiarrhythmic drug into the mammal's pericardial space and is configured not to impede significantly a systolic or a diastolic function of the heart while the releasing member resides in the pericardial space.

  • Publication number: 20100312296
Abstract: A device is provided for treating atrial fibrillation. A patch is inserted through a surgical incision into a patient and is configured to attach to the patient's heart. An elongate member is attached to the patch and is configured to detach from the patch after the incision is closed and the risk of postoperative atrial fibrillation has decreased. The device is configured to provide atrial defibrillation therapy to the heart upon detection of atrial fibrillation, which can include the application of electrical energy. The patch may be bioresorbable and may include bioresorbable glue for attachment to the heart. Detection of atrial fibrillation may be performed through internal or external sensors.

  • Publication number: 20080288303
Abstract: A method for preventing fraud in Internet-based advertising. The first step of this method is providing behavior-tracking software on a user computer. That software tracks and analyzes the user's activity across multiple content providers. Next, the system displays content, including advertising, based on preferences inferred from previous activity. Finally, the system identifies behavior patterns consistent with fraudulent activity.
