  • Patent number: 3982757
Abstract: An exercising apparatus useful for exercising the arms and shoulders of the user is disclosed. The arm exercising apparatus comprises a housing with a torsion member affixed to the housing whereby the torsion member will resist a rotating force that is applied thereon. An elongated lever extends from the housing and is operably connected to the torsion member. When a force is exerted in a predetermined direction on the free end of the lever, the force is thereby transmitted to the torsion member to exert a rotating force on the torsion member. The housing can have a suitable concavity formed therein to permit the elbow of the user to be seated in said concavity. The user of the device can place his elbow in the concavity and then grip the free end of the lever. Force is then applied in a predetermined direction to move the lever in said predetermined direction.
