Information from multiple sensors can be used to determine whether abnormal or hazardous conditions are present, such as when unattended cooking is detected. A local indication or a remote notification can be generated in response to one or more conditions. A control signal to control a cooking appliance or range hood can be issued in response to one or more conditions. A remediation signal to address an actual fire present can be issued, such as to trigger fire remediation.

    Abstract: A system and related methods for assisting in the identification of an unidentified object by comparing a visual representation of an unidentified object with a visual mask corresponding to a known product. The mask can include at least one distinctive feature that can be compared to the visual features of the visual representation. Identified correspondence between the mask and the visual presentation can then be used to identify the unidentified object. The visual representation of the unidentified object can be compared against a library of masks to identify the unidentified object, where each mask corresponds to a different known product.
