  • Publication number: 20220183589
Abstract: One embodiment provides a sensor module for patient monitoring. The sensor module includes a processor circuitry; a memory circuitry; at least one time of flight (TOF) sensor; a TOF logic; and a monitor logic. The TOF logic is configured to determine a sequence of elevation maps of at least a portion of a patient room. The TOF logic is further configured to at least one of a distance vector and a velocity vector associated with a selected room occupant based, at least in part, on a plurality of elevation maps in the sequence of elevation maps. Each elevation map is determined based, at least in part, on a respective TOF data set captured from the at least one TOF sensor. Each TOF data set is captured, periodically at a time interval. The monitor logic is configured to classify an activity of the selected room occupant as acceptable or unacceptable. The classifying is based, at least in part, on the at least one of the distance vector and the velocity vector.

  • Patent number: 9363859
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an illumination system including an array of LED light sources for emitting light encoded with a modulation pattern, an array of sensors and a space characterization unit. The array of sensors receives emitted light scattered by an object. Each sensor determines a distance between the corresponding light source and the object using the modulation pattern. The space characterization unit uses the distance from each sensor to generate an elevation map indicating a presence of the object.

  • Patent number: 8707752
Abstract: A calibration assembly is disclosed. In one embodiment, a calibration assembly calibrating a downhole formation evaluation tool includes a calibration base having a first geometry, a calibration insert including a first material and having a second geometry, and a second material having a third geometry and being different from the first material. The second geometry enables the calibration insert to receive the second material to form a first composite region, wherein the first and second materials and the second and third geometries are selected such that a calibration property of the calibration assembly apparatus substantially matches a corresponding calibration property of a third material. Additional apparatuses, devices, and methods are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8462987
Abstract: Coherent motion regions extend in time as well as space, enforcing consistency in detected objects over long time periods and making the algorithm robust to noisy or short point tracks. As a result of enforcing the constraint that selected coherent motion regions contain disjoint sets of tracks defined in a three-dimensional space including a time dimension. An algorithm operates directly on raw, unconditioned low-level feature point tracks, and minimizes a global measure of the coherent motion regions. At least one discrete moving object is identified in a time series of video images based on the trajectory similarity factors, which is a measure of a maximum distance between a pair of feature point tracks.

  • Patent number: 5884240
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring and storing a tree characteristic that preferably is tree diameter and other data related to location, variety and grade of a tree being measured. The apparatus has a handle, a wand extending therefrom, and a measurement head carried by the wand for measuring diameter. The wand has a control handle connected by a cable to a movable caliper jaw carried by the head to measure a diameter of a tree between the movable jaw and another jaw. A vernier having measurement locator slots and a home position slot is carried by the cable and communicates with slot sensors that send signals to an on-board computer to determine direction and distance of jaw movement for enabling the distance between the jaws to be determined. Two optoisolators and the computer comprise a jaw motion and direction detecting quadrature detector. A third optoisolator detects when the movable jaw is in its home position.
