Patent number: 10693582Abstract: An example method for determining a physical cell identifier is provided. The example method may include receiving a first and second signal captures from wireless, cellular communication signals transmitted by a base station. The first signal capture being a portion of a first radio frame and the second signal capture being a portion of a second, subsequent radio frame. The method may further include aligning the first and second signal captures to determine a location of a start of a first symbol in each and decoding data within signal captures to generate a first capture grid and a second capture grid. The method may further include combining the capture grids into a resultant grid and determining a subset of possible physical cell identifiers based on a position of a selected reference symbol within the resultant grid to assist with determining a current cell identifier.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 2018Date of Patent: June 23, 2020Assignee: The Johns Hopkins UniversityInventors: Richard J. Rosasco, Brian W. Stevens, Aaron T. Thomas

Publication number: 20190351963Abstract: An apparatus controller for prompting a rider to be positioned on a vehicle in such a manner as to reduce lateral instability due to lateral acceleration of the vehicle. The apparatus has an input for receiving specification from the rider of a desired direction of travel, and indicating means for reflecting to the rider a propitious instantaneous body orientation to enhance stability in the face of lateral acceleration. The indicating may include a handlebar that is pivotable with respect to the vehicle and that is driven in response to vehicle turning.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 2, 2019Publication date: November 21, 2019Inventors: Dean Kamen, Robert R. Ambrogi, James J. Dattolo, Robert J. Duggan, J. Douglas Field, Richard Kurt Heinzmann, Matthew M. McCambridge, John B. Morrell, Michael D. Piedmonte, Richard J. Rosasco
