Abstract: A food stabilization device comprising one or more cross-bars and a plurality of teeth. The one or more cross-bars comprise at least one of a cross-bar height and a cross-bar width adapted to receive a gripping mechanism. The plurality of teeth extend from the one or more cross-bars and comprise a tip adapted to pierce one or more layers of a food item and a length adapted to at least partially reach the one or more layers of the food item.

Abstract: Sweet analgesics and compositions comprising a sweet analgesic and a delivery vehicle for reducing pain or discomfort associated with a medical procedure or treatment are disclosed. The sweet analgesic is administered or delivered to the intra-oral cavity of the patient prior to or during the medical procedure or treatment to increase the comfort of the patient. The sweet analgesic can be applied to a dental roll or pad and the roll or pad can be inserted between the cheek and gum of the patient to allow for the release of the sweet analgesic during the medical procedure or treatment. The dental roll or pad can be replaced as necessary to maintain the release of the sweet analgesic into the intra-oral cavity of the patient during the medical procedure or treatment.

Abstract: An absorbent pad is provided which includes an absorbent layer which serves as a reservoir for liquid and has a liquid impervious barrier over one surface thereof. The liquid is applied to the opposite surface of the barrier and is conducted by means of wicking material to the sides of the barrier and into the absorbent layer. This arrangement enhances drying of the upper surface of the barrier and wicking material shortly after application of the liquid. A hydrophobic porus of open weave material can be provided over the wicking material to protect it and to provide a surface through which the liquid can reach the wicking material and the barrier sheet. The barrier sheet can have multiple channels formed in the liquid receiving surface thereof to disperse the liquid toward the edges thereof.

Abstract: An absorbant pad having an intermediate plastic bubble layer covered on either side with a continuous layer of absorbant material wherein the bubble layer serves as a reservoir for a liquid that is siphoned around the edges of the bubble layer for storage.
