  • Publication number: 20090082999
Abstract: A method and system for determining the operating mode of a generator is provided. The method and system may include a generator operating mode evaluation system. The method and system may receive a plurality of generator operating data for use by the method and system to determine a generator operating mode. The method and system may provide a notification on the generator operating mode. The method and system may also store a plurality of generator operating mode data.

  • Publication number: 20090030752
Abstract: A method for determining whether an operational metric representing the performance of a target machine has an anomalous value is provided. The method includes collecting operational data from at least one machine, and calculating at least one exceptional anomaly score from the obtained operational data.
    Type: Application
    Filed: July 27, 2007
    Publication date: January 29, 2009

  • Publication number: 20090030753
Abstract: A method for aggregating anomalous values is provided. The method comprises obtaining operational data from at least one machine and calculating at least one exceptional anomaly score from the operational data. The exceptional anomaly scores can then be aggregated to identify acute or chronic anomalous values.

  • Patent number: 7050943
Abstract: A system and method are provided for monitoring the operation of a plurality of turbines in respective operating locations. The method includes inputting operation data from each of the turbines and processing the operation data to generate secondary operation data. Further, the method also includes generating at least one report based on the secondary operation data.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 30, 2001
Date of Patent: May 23, 2006
    Assignee: General Electric Company

  • Patent number: 6505143
Abstract: A machine protection system and method for rotating equipment introduces new alarming features and makes use of full proximity probe sensor information, including amplitude and phase. Baseline vibration amplitude and phase data is estimated and tracked according to operating modes of the rotating equipment. Baseline vibration and phase data can be determined using a rolling average and variance and stored in a unit circle or tracked using short term average and long term average baselines. The sensed vibration amplitude and phase is compared with the baseline vibration amplitude and phase data. Operation of the rotating equipment can be controlled based on the vibration amplitude and phase.
