  • Patent number: 4534249
Abstract: A method and apparatus for controlling the stroke of a press in which the movements of two portions of a movable platen of the press are continuously sensed during a stroke. A signal is generated whose magnitude at any time during a stroke is dependent on the sum of the distances moved by the two portions of the movable platen during the stroke. The signal is compared with a preselected value which is selected in accordance with the length of the stroke required and the stroke is terminated when the magnitude of the signal equals the preselected value.

  • Patent number: 4518195
Abstract: A window structure for closing an opening in an upright wall of a cab structure composed of upper and lower glass panels having adjoining horizontal edges. A horizontal hinge connects the upper edge of the upper panel to the cab structure so that the upper panel can swing inwardly to an upper horizontal position just under the roof of the cab. The lower panel may be mounted in the lower portion of the opening or on the rear face of the upper panel and when in the latter position, upper and lower panels may be swung upwardly against the roof of the cab and latched in this position. A gas-pressurized cylinder is used between the cab structure and the upper panel to aid in both raising the panels and to restrain the panels as they are lowered.

  • Patent number: 4454891
Abstract: An air gap drain module for use with the dispensing head of a reverse osmosis dispensing system for potable water has an inner waste water tube and an outer drain tube which are disposed concentric to each other at one end and for a portion of the length of the inner tube adjacent the concentric end. An air gap in the form of spaced slots is provided adjacent the concentric end of the drain tube and a closure is connected to the common end of the waste water tube and drain tube with an annular flange or skirt thereon in assembled position disposed to extend between the waste water tube and the drain tube to form an annular passage about the waste water tube and direct the movement of process water issuing from the concentric end of the waste water tube into the drain tube. The closure forms a chamber or trap with the adjacent end of the waste water tube which in conjunction with the spaced slots prevent back flow into the waste water tube.

  • Patent number: 4403814
Abstract: The method of locking a shaft within a bearing so that they are concentrically positioned against rotational and axial relative movement, and an apparatus for practicing such method comprising a complete assembly such as a pillow block bearing which includes an axial extension on the inner race ring of the bearing of a lesser outside diameter than the outside diameter of the main body portion of such inner race ring, with slots spaced equally around the circumference of such extension cut axially inwardly from the outer edge to provide multiple segments therein. A continuous circular collar positioned over the extension includes two threadably mounted set screws spaced apart within an arc substantially 30.degree. to 60.degree. on the continuous circular collar, and in such position of the collar on the extension each set screw is over a segment and the segments are separated by an extension slot.

  • Patent number: 4289350
Abstract: A folding table and seat combination, including a pair of tubular elements, which are bent to form support sections, legs and base rails or runners, the combination being arranged to form a pair of matched units, which are foldable along a substantially longitudinal median line.

  • Patent number: 4215658
Abstract: A kit for converting an automobile engine from a conventional water pump driven by mechanical engine power to electrical drive which is separately controllable independently of engine operation. The kit includes a conventional air conditioning blower motor, and a bracket which permits motion of the electric motor on the bracket, whereby the motor, belts, pulleys, etc. can be changed without having to remove the bracket from the water pump on the engine.

  • Patent number: 4210350
Abstract: An access door forms part of an enclosure and is releasably held in a closed position by means of a latch mechanism including a lock member formed of a spring metal strap bent to include a clip or hairpin portion having deflectable legs disposed in cooperating holding relationship to a catch member carried by the door when the latter is closed. The lock member also includes a deflectable mounting portion to which is connected a latch release lever for selectively deflecting the latter to disengage the deflectable legs thereof from the catch member to thereby release the door for movement to an open position.

  • Patent number: 4088091
Abstract: There is disclosed a fin structure for mounting in an opening in the hull of a power boat having an elongated rectangular panel connected between the base edges of a pair of elongated fins, each fin having a base edge, a leading edge and a trailing edge, being joined to the elongated rectangular panel to locate the pair of fins in substantially parallel alignment and to form a channel adapted to receive a propeller and propeller shaft therein with the propeller in proximity of the trailing edges, the trailing edge of each fin projecting from one end of the base edge beyond the outer most extremeties of the propeller received in the channel, the leading edge extending from the end of the trailing edge and sloping forward along the hull to the other end of the base edge in a manner to be more distant from the rectangular panel at any point than the propeller shaft received in the channel such that the propeller and propeller shaft are entirely contained within the channel formed between the pair of fins to prot
