  • Patent number: 7831490
Abstract: The present invention relates to a central (root) directory and/or network of directories to linked credit accounts. Each linked credit account accepts, or is responsive to incoming payments or credits, without the need for access numbers, account numbers, routing numbers, or the like. The payment/deposit account may be set up as a deposit only account (e.g., it cannot pay out or be debited in the traditional sense). In this way, it can be effective in eliminating many of the security requirements of a traditional financial account.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 26, 2004
Date of Patent: November 9, 2010
    Assignee: Payment Pathways, Inc.
Inventors: Franco Modigliani, Serena Modigliani, legal representative, Richard James O'Brien, Francis M. Vitagliano
  • Publication number: 20100022861
Abstract: An implantable medical device includes an optical hemodynamic sensor comprising at least one optical emitter and at least one detector. In some examples, the at least one optical emitter may be optically coupled to at least one light transmission member that extends from a housing of the medical device. In addition, in some examples, the at least one detector may be optically coupled to at least one light transmission member that extends from the housing of the medical device. In other examples, an optical emitter and/or detector of a hemodynamic sensor may be carried by an elongated member that extends from a housing of the IMD. The elongated member may electrically couple the optical emitter and/or detector to a controller or other components within the IMD housing.
    Type: Application
    Filed: July 28, 2008
    Publication date: January 28, 2010
    Applicant: Medtronic, Inc.
Inventors: Can Cinbis, Richard James O'Brien, James Kevin Carney
