Publication number: 20170070486Abstract: A method of ensuring the identity of a first processing device to a second processing device allows for secure network communication between the devices. A network resource address including an encoded trusted identifier in a portion of the address excluding the host name of the first processing device are provided to a second processing device by a trusted distribution mechanism. The trusted identifier is derived from a public key of the first processing device. Communication is initiated with the first processing device at the network resource address and a public key purporting to identify the first processing device is received in response to initiating the communication. The trusted identifier is compared to a transformation of at least a portion of the public key to determine a match between the identifier and the transformation. If the trusted identifier and the transformation match, the identity of the first processing device is verified.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 4, 2015Publication date: March 9, 2017Applicant: CA, Inc.Inventors: Mike Arnold Lyons, Vincent Chan, Richard Jason Refuerzo Raquepo

Publication number: 20160267894Abstract: A computerized musical percussion instrument is disclosed. Markers carried by the musician are observed by an imager to produce a series of two dimensional images over the time of the performance. A processor receives the images and distinguishes between markers (e.g. left hand, right hand) by comparing the position and size of unidentified markers in the current image to the position and size of identified markers in preceding images. The processor analyses each markers' movements and detects a drum hit when a marker undergoes a sharp reversal of its motion direction after reaching sufficient speed. The processor determines which drum the musician intends to hit by comparing the position and size of the marker at the instant of the hit to the position and size attributes of each drum. The processor outputs an audio signal for each hit, corresponding to the drum hit, with a volume determined by marker speed.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 12, 2015Publication date: September 15, 2016Applicant: FICTITIOUS CAPITAL LIMITEDInventors: Richard Jason LEE, Yann Pierre MORVAN

Patent number: 8266688Abstract: The present solution reduces the attack surface of a server by selectively opening a server port for listening when a client has been authenticated/authorized via another machine or process, and directed to connect to the server in question. When not selectively listening on a port, the server does not listen or open ports for connections or otherwise minimizes the number of open ports. By selectively listening for connections, the server reduces the opportunity for hackers to attack the server process, and improves the security of the server. The ability to selectively listen on a port at specific times may be combined with additional meta information—like ticketing and prior authentication information to help further secure the server. The meta information may identify and ensure that only the correct remote endpoint is allowed to connect via the port.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 2007Date of Patent: September 11, 2012Assignee: Citrix Systems, Inc.Inventors: Andrew Gerard Borzycki, Nicholas Alexander Bissett, Donovan Ross Hackett, Michael John Wookey, Richard Jason Croft, Jeffrey Dale Muir
