  • Patent number: 10323405
Abstract: The prefabricated jail cells to which the connection system of this invention relates comprises a plurality of rectangular structural elements, including rear, side and front walls, each comprising studs and a steel wall plate forming the inside surface of the wall. According to the invention, a structural channel is attached to the back side of the extended end of the wall plate and defines the end of the structural wall element. The connection between two of such structural elements is made with a nut and bolt where the bolt passes through the web of the end-defining channel, through the adjacent wall plate and into and through a connecting component of the wall element to be connected.

  • Patent number: 7318300
Abstract: A modularized jail cell having front and rear panels, two side panels connecting the front and rear panels, and a roof panel connecting the front rear and side panels. Each cell includes vertical support members oriented to provide both vertical and lateral support for each panel, and the roof panel is also adapted to serve as a floor for a second modularized jail cell positioned above the first or lower modularized jail cell. One or more cells may be connected horizontally and a system of cells may be constructed by attaching cells laterally and vertically to create a jail cell complex. Inter-connecting structures are present at the juncture of each panel to facilitate connection with an adjacently positioned cell. Front interlock plates and rear cover plates secure each laterally positioned cell together.

  • Publication number: 20030230038
Abstract: Modular structures constructed from interlocking wall modules made of plate steel and assembled with C-channel connectors, including tongue and groove elements used to position adjoining modules adjacent to one another, for example during the construction of a cell block. The tongue and groove elements ensure all adjacent prison cell modules are properly aligned such that the front fascia of each cell module lies within substantially the same plane. Further, the interlocking of the tongue and groove allows for the quick, cost-effective construction of a schoolroom having double skinned walls in an effort to increase the stability of the structure. Lastly, the interlocking panels may be formed in relatively small sections and then joined together in order to form a larger wall.
