    Abstract: A scraper for moving friable material. The scraper includes a frame adapted for attachment to a vehicle and an articulated blade. The blade has left and right portions mounted on the frame for pivoting about a substantially horizontal axis transverse to the articulated blade. Each of the left and right portions of the articulated blade is adapted for pivotal movement about the axis between a substantially horizontal lowered position and a raised position, and each portion is independently positionable in at least one position between the lowered position and the raised position. The articulated blade is positionable for engagement with the friable material as the vehicle travels over the friable material for moving a part of the friable material to shape the friable material in accordance with a predetermined design.

    Abstract: Bottles or like articles are fed singly in ungrouped bottle-to-bottle contact in a continuous path by gravity feed in sequence onto horizontally moved cases carried by a conveyor disposed below the line of movement of the bottles or like articles, the case conveyor moving the cases at a predetermined speed. The bottles are conveyed to the cases on inclined paths and/or spaced rails, the bottles being slidably movable on portions adjacent the inclined paths and/or spaced rails. In one embodiment the bottles are suspended from rails in bottle-to-bottle contact. Detectors may be provided for detecting the height of the bottles, disposition of the caps thereon, positioning of the bottles in the cases, and eliminating jamming or improper spacing of the cases.

    Abstract: A control for modulating the duty cycle of diesel engine glow plugs has two heat sensitive, normally closed switches each thermally coupled to a respective positive temperature coefficient (PTC) of resistivity heater in turn thermally coupled to and mounted on a common heat sink. The heat sensitive switches are serially connected to each other, to an ignition switch and to a glow plug relay. The PTC heaters are connected to a point between the heat sensitive switches and the relay and to ground. A third PTC heater is mounted on the heat sink intermediate the first and second heaters and thermally coupled to the heat sink. The third heater is connected to an alternator and serves to cut off power to the glow plugs after a selected after glow stage. The two heat sensitive switches can be selected to open at approximately the same temperature for a random operating mode or at slightly different temperatures for a sequential operating mode.
