Patents by Inventor Richard Jenny

Richard Jenny has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Publication number: 20120065137
Abstract: A process of treating trauma induced factor V consumptive coagulopathy is presented whereby a subject is administered a preparation of isolated factor V or a variant thereof. Administration of factor V surprisingly improves clot times and reduces the severity and propensity of bleeding events.
    Type: Application
    Filed: September 2, 2011
    Publication date: March 15, 2012
Inventors: Richard Jenny, Kenneth G. Mann
  • Publication number: 20060148022
Abstract: The invention provides assays for detecting and quantitating tissue factor and factor VIIa in simple and complex biological systems. The assays are performed by detecting and/or measuring the tissue factor cofactor activity and factor VIIa enzymatic activity using aminonapthalene-based fluorogenic substrates.
    Type: Application
    Filed: November 6, 2003
    Publication date: July 6, 2006
    Inventors: Richard Jenny, Saulius Butenas
  • Patent number: 7049087
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a tissue factor-based prothrombin-time reagent includes combining predetermined quantities of tissue factor (TF), phospholipid and detergent-containing buffer to create a TF/phospholipid mixture. In this combining step, the quantity of TF is predetermined based upon its measured TF activity. Next, the detergent is removed from the TF/phospholipid mixture to produce an essentially detergent-free TF/phospholipid mixture that is useful as a tissue factor-based PT reagent. The method can include the use of hydrophobic resin that has been prescreened based on phospholipid recovery to accomplish the removal of the detergent.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 5, 2002
Date of Patent: May 23, 2006
    Assignee: Lifescan, Inc.
Inventors: Richard Jenny, Paul E. Haley, Brian Earp
