  • Patent number: 4034641
Abstract: A self-drilling and tapping anchor for use in masonry structures which includes an upper, tapping thread portion and a lower, stabilizing and dust receiving shank portion intermediate the tapping thread and a drill tip. The lower shank has a cross-sectional configuration which defines a maximum and minimum radial dimension with the maximum dimension being greater than or equal to the hole being drilled to axially stabilize and support the fastener as it is drilled into the masonry. The minimum radial dimension and the wall of the hole forming a reservoir into which masonry dust is received during drilling.

  • Patent number: 4026186
Abstract: An expansion anchor device for use in masonry structure which is capable of drilling a hole in the structure and being set without the necessity of removal of the device from the hole. A drill tip portion with a conical upper region is interconnected to a generally cylindrical sleeve portion through a frangible wall. Helical flute grooves are formed on the outer surface of the sleeve to permit exhaust of drilled material from the hole.

  • Patent number: 3965510
Abstract: A combination tool attachment for a power tool device, including a mandrel carrying a drill bit, telescopically mounted in a body portion. The body portion including a socket-type driving extremity with a bore extending therethrough so that the drill can selectively be retracted or extended. A rotatable plastic sleeve is mounted around the body allowing an operator to safely hold the tool. An axial recess extending outwardly from the socket enables the threaded fastener associated therewith to be seated without overdriving.

  • Patent number: 3937119
Abstract: A screw type anchor device for securement into masonry structures. A sharp crested helical thread, preferably with tapering crest diameter, is formed along the shank and helical protuberances forming guide means are spaced along the shank between adjacent convolutions of the helical thread. Notches are formed on the crests of the helical thread along the length of the shank to facilitate embedment of the crests in the walls of a performed bore in the masonry structure.
