  • Publication number: 20240108844
Abstract: A humidification system can include a heater base, a humidification chamber, and a breathing circuit. A cartridge can be removably coupled to the heater base. The cartridge can include various sensors, probes, sensor wire connectors, heater wire connectors, and/or other features. The cartridge can include features configured to mate with corresponding features on the humidification chamber and the heater base. The cartridge includes a memory, such as an EEPROM, or other suitable storage device. When the cartridge is installed on the heater base, the memory is electrically connected to a processor and/or memory of the heater base. Various models of cartridges can be produced for use with different humidification chambers, breathing circuits, and/or therapies. A connector can be configured to couple an inspiratory conduit to an outlet port of the humidification chamber. The connector can provide a pneumatic connection to the outlet port and an electrical connection to the cartridge.

  • Patent number: 9525779
Abstract: A method of managing communications services begins with a communications platform receiving a request for a communications service to be provided to a communications device by a source other than the communications platform. The communications platform determines an authorization of the communications device to receive the communications service. The authorization comprises a permission of the communications device to receive the communications service during a lifetime of a communications session maintained with the communications device. The communications network authorizes delivery of the communications service to the communications device during the lifetime of the communications session, in accordance with the authorization.

  • Patent number: 9413589
Abstract: A method for discovering a communication device is disclosed. The method includes: receiving in the communication device a communication including a request for an address and an identification of an application, in response to receiving the communication, associating a dynamic address of the communication device with the identified application, and sending a second communication directly or indirectly to a client device, the second communication including the dynamic address. The communication device may further obtain a dynamic address in response to receiving the communication. The dynamic address may be used for a dedicated purpose, such as for receiving a file for subsequent use by the application.

  • Patent number: 9232003
Abstract: A system and method are provided that enable a registrar or other server or proxy device to be used to provide a path between a pair of endpoint devices for exchanging addressing information, in order to establish a direct P2P connection. Once that connection is established, the connection may be used for any P2P data communications, e.g. SIP establishment of a VoIP call, instant messaging, online gaming, file transfer, multimedia streaming, etc. In this way, each endpoint device possesses a list of candidate addresses to establish a direct P2P connection, which may then be used for any type of communication. By relying on a registrar or other server to enable the candidate lists to be exchanged, control can still be maintained if necessary, since the candidate lists can be modified, e.g. to enable a transparent interception, to impose or remove security restrictions, etc.

  • Patent number: 9185343
Abstract: Exemplary methods and systems relate to telepresence at mobile devices. In one example the method can be performed on the mobile device. The mobile device can determine real-time availability of resources. The mobile device can further determine the composition of the telepresence session. The mobile device can further communicate the determined composition of telepresence data to a remote server. The mobile device can further receive telepresence data and perform a portion of the telepresence session data. Additionally, the present system can be configured to operate on a server or other electronic device.

  • Patent number: 9185210
Abstract: Aspects relate to call control by third parties, where IP or a similar transport is used over a part of the channel for a given call and circuit-switched signaling protocols are used on a different part. For example, a PBX can communicate using SIP signaling to a gateway to a PSTN network, to which a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) is coupled, and which a mobile device, uses for voice communication. Controlling or updating status in these kinds of situations can be accomplished by forming a Q.931/932 message, such as a FACILITY message, which has fields (Information Elements) for pre-defined purposes (other than third party call control), and providing control or status information in such field(s). The message (the info) is tunneled through the gateway and the network(s), and arrives at its destination device.

  • Patent number: 8976950
Abstract: Third party call control in a service management platform (SMP) of an enterprise system comprising a private branch exchange (PBX) in communication with the SMP over a trunk and line. Receiving a request over the line for communication involving a device. Invoking reliable transmission of provisional responses in the trunk. Receiving a receive only session description over the trunk. Invoking specific event notification between the SMP and PBX for calls answered between the device and PBX. Receiving notification of a call answered between the device and PBX. Responding to the request with the first session description as a send/receive offer. Receiving acknowledgement including a second send/receive answer session description over the line. Updating the trunk the second description as a send/receive update. Receiving a third session description with a successful response message from the PBX; the third session description being a send and receive copy of the first session description.
