  • Patent number: 9866886
Abstract: A media content service is distributed across a distribution network. A plurality of media content service representations (80A, 80B) for the media content service are generated. Each of the media content representations (80A, 80B) has a different bit rate. Each of the media content service representations (80A, 80B) is divided into segments (81A, 81B). Segments (81A, 81B) of the plurality of media content service representations are aligned in time. The segments are transmitted as a sequence of bursts (82A, 82B). The bursts of the plurality of media content service representations are aligned in time. There is a window period (83) between successive bursts during which media content is not transmitted. Each of the media content service representations is transmitted as a multicast.

  • Publication number: 20170366878
Abstract: Systems and methods are described that collect spatio-temporal data using an RFID system that is capable of locating the spatial position of a sensor, which is typically unaware of its location. Such systems and methods can be contrasted with conventional RFID systems in that they are able to determine the location of sensors in space as opposed to with respect to read zones related to the underlying RFID reader infrastructure.
