  • Patent number: 11253390
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an impression tray to be removably attached to an oral jaw advancement appliance that is worn over the teeth of a user during sleep to reduce the effects of snoring and sleep apnea. The impression tray has a handle with a first end affixed to a curved rear impression forming stop and an opposite free end that is pushed through the oral appliance so as to extend outwardly from the front thereof. The curved rear impression forming stop of the handle is held flush against the rear of the appliance, and a curved front impression forming stop is detachably connected to the opposite free end of the handle and slidable therealong to lie flush against the front of the appliance. The handle of the impression tray permits the oral appliance to be lowered into and lifted out of boiled water so that an accurate impression of the user's teeth can be made therein.

  • Patent number: 10849783
Abstract: Disclosed is a full movement jaw advancement oral appliance that is worn in the mouth of a user to reduce the effects of snoring and/or sleep apnea. The oral appliance includes an upper arch tray assembly against which the user's upper teeth carried are received, a lower arch tray assembly against which the user's lower teeth are received, and an intermediate guide post support tray that is connected at the bottom thereof to the lower arch tray assembly and at the top thereof to the upper arch tray assembly by an upper arch tray retaining post that extends therebetween. The upper arch tray assembly is movable in both horizontal and vertical directions relative to the lower arch tray assembly so that the positions of the user's upper and lower jaws can be adjusted relative to one another and the upper arch tray assembly will remain in receipt of the user's upper teeth when he opens his mouth during sleep.

  • Publication number: 20200323678
Abstract: A oral appliance (i.e., a dental mouth guard) configured so as to fit in the mouth and over at least one (e.g., the upper) set of teeth of a user during sleep to prevent bruxism and the grinding together of the user's upper and lower sets of teeth. The mouth guard has a relatively soft heat responsive and arcuate shaped upper impression tray that is molded over a relatively hard and arcuate shaped lower chassis. The mouth guard is removably received within and transported by a fitting tray to be submerged in boiling water. After it is heated, the fitting tray relocates the mouth guard to the user's mouth where a biting force is applied by the user to the upper impression tray so that an accurate and custom impression of the user's teeth is made therewithin. The mouth guard is now removed from the fitting tray which is then discarded.

  • Patent number: 8833374
Abstract: An intra-oral mandibular advancement appliance to be inserted in the mouth of a patient so as to maintain an open airway to the patient's throat and thereby improve breathing during sleep. The mandibular advancement appliance has particular application for use by those wishing to reduce the effects of snoring and/or sleep apnea. The appliance includes an upper tray assembly against which is seated the patient's teeth carried by his upper jaw and a lower tray assembly against which the patient's teeth carried by his lower jaw are seated. The lower tray assembly is mated to and slidably adjustable by the patient relative to the upper tray assembly. By virtue of the foregoing, the position of the patient's lower jaw can be selectively and continuously moved forward with respect to the position of the upper jaw to prevent an occlusion of the airway as the patient's condition changes over time.

  • Publication number: 20080053375
Abstract: A bird feeder that is to be suspended from a support includes a container disposed on a base that has at least one outer opening operative to dispense foodstuff from the container. A hanger member is centrally located on a top portion of the container. An upstanding barrier wall extends around the hanger in spaced relation so as to form a channel surrounding the hanger. This channel may be filled with a liquid to serve as an ant moat. The top portion may be circular and have a post projecting upwardly with the hanger member supported on the post. The barrier wall is then circumjacent this post to form an annular channel. The barrier wall may be located on the periphery of the top portion and also may be coextensive with the side wall of the container. The base may be provided with a perch for a bird.
