Abstract: A surgical frame incorporating an electromagnetic-radiation imaging device, and a radiation-mitigation system for use with the surgical frame are provided. The surgical frame can be capable of reconfiguration before, during, or after surgery, and can include a main beam that can be rotated, raised/lowered, and tilted upwardly/downwardly to afford positioning and repositioning of a patient supported thereon. The surgical frame can support the electromagnetic-radiation imaging device. One of an emitter and a receiver of the electromagnetic-radiation imaging device can be positioned under the main beam of the surgical frame, and the other of the emitter and the receiver of the electromagnetic-radiation imaging device can be positioned over the main beam of the surgical frame. The radiation-mitigation system can serve to intercept/block and mitigate at least some of the scatter of the electromagnetic radiation from the emitter.

Abstract: A lift, a head support, and methods for use thereof for use with a surgical frame are provided. The lift and the head support can be used with the surgical frame that is capable of reconfiguration before, during, or after surgery. The surgical frame can include a main beam that can be rotated, raised/lowered, and tilted upwardly/downwardly to afford positioning and repositioning of a patient supported thereon, and the lift and the head support can be used in lifting the patient from a table/gurney and positioning the patient with respect to the main beam.

Abstract: K.sup.+, Mg.sup.2+, and SO.sub.4.sup.2- were important components eliciting oviposition by Trichogramma pretiosum Riley in aqueous solutions in artificial wax eggs. Ca.sup.2+ inhibited oviposition in a KCl-MgSO.sub.4 solution. The solutions most active in stimulating oviposition were 124.7-36.5 and 83.1-24.3 mM, respectively, of KCl-MgSO.sub.4.
