Patent number: 7387264Abstract: A spraying system is provided including a spray gun and a spray nozzle. The spray gun has a discharge end. A locating pin is arranged on the discharge end of the spray gun. The spray nozzle is selectively mountable on the discharge end of the spray gun. The spray nozzle has a discharge orifice configured to produce a asymmetrically distributed fluid discharge pattern wherein the location of maximum fluid discharge is offset from the center of the fluid discharge pattern. The spray nozzle has an alignment notch extending along an outer surface of the spray nozzle. The locating pin is arranged on the spray gun and the alignment notch is arranged on the spray nozzle such that when the spray nozzle is mounted on the discharge end of the spray gun in a predetermined orientation the locating pin extends into the alignment slot.Type: GrantFiled: April 21, 2006Date of Patent: June 17, 2008Assignee: Spraying Systems Co.Inventor: Richard Kassanits

Patent number: 6742730Abstract: A spray nozzle for producing an asymmetrically distributed fluid discharge pattern such as for use in a container coating application is provided. The spray nozzles includes a body portion having an internal fluid passageway which terminates in a substantially hemispherical dome shaped end wall. A discharge orifice is provided in the end wall which is produced by superimposing on each other an approximately round opening and an elongated opening having opposed rounded ends. The round opening and the elongated opening defining respective edges of the discharge orifice which extend at different angles relative to a longitudinal axis of the fluid passageway. The resulting orifice produces a fluid discharge pattern wherein the amount of fluid discharged tapers in a continuous, non-linear manner from the location of maximum discharge to points of minimum flow at either end of the discharge pattern.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2001Date of Patent: June 1, 2004Assignee: Spraying Systems Co.Inventor: Richard Kassanits

Patent number: 6228508Abstract: Disclosed is a process for preparing a metal body via metal powder molding techniques. First and second component parts are conventionally injection molded from a metal powder molding material. The first ultrasonic part is molded to have an ultrasonic energy director surface, which may be, for example, a rib having a triangular cross section. In accordance with the disclosed process, the first and second component parts then are ultrasonically welded to form a green assembly, and this green assembly is debound and sintered in accordance with conventional metal powder molding techniques to form a metal body. The metal body thus formed will be hermetically sealed along the ultrasonic weld. The process of the invention thus may be employed in the preparation of metal objects that require a hermetic seal, such as fluid flow nozzles, pressure vessels, and the like.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2000Date of Patent: May 8, 2001Assignee: Spraying Systems Co.Inventors: Richard Kassanits, Timothy H.
