  • Publication number: 20170050729
Abstract: A kite control bar having a line guide extending with a fixed pawl towards one end. A reel is pivotally mounted towards one end of the control bar and extending into the line receiving channel. The reel has a fixed shaft with a knob on the shaft to enabling manual rotation of the reel. The reel has a ratchet gear. The reel is pivotally movable from an engaged positioned in which the ratchet gear of the reel is engaged with the pawl on the control bar thereby preventing rotation of the reel and a disengaged position in which the ratchet gear of the reel is disengaged from the pawl on the control bar thereby allowing rotation of the reel. The reel is biased into the engaged position. The reel is moved from the engaged position to the disengaged position by pushing the knob away from a center of the control bar.

  • Patent number: 9565124
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for a low-latency network interface. One of the methods includes receiving a signal having encoded data. A bit stream is generated from the received signal. Bits of the bit stream are shifted into a shift register until a feedback signal generated by a synchronization decoder is received. After the feedback signal is received, output of the shift register is descrambled to generate descrambled data. The descrambled data is stored in a first parallel register when the synchronization decoder determines that the data in the shift register is aligned to a word boundary. If the data in the first parallel register is properly aligned, the output is stored in a second parallel register.

  • Publication number: 20160031537
Abstract: An adjustable circumference seal includes an envelope having an outer layer and an inner layer, with the inner layer defining a sealing surface. A circumferential closure is provided for constricting the inner layer of the envelope and thereby adjusting a circumference of the inner layer of the envelope. The closure includes a band having a first end and a second end, with a first cord guide at the first end and a second cord guide at the second end. A cord is threaded from the outer layer through a cord channel in the envelope, through the first cord guide of the band, through the second cord guide of the band and back through the cord channel. By pulling the cord, the circumference of the inner layer of the envelope is reduced until the sealing surface is brought into a sealing engagement. A cord lock far maintains the cord in a selected position.

  • Publication number: 20160024584
Abstract: Methods, compositions, and systems are provided for managing bovine subjects in order to maximize their individual potential performance and edible meat value, and to maximize profits obtained in marketing the bovine subjects. The methods and systems draw an inference of a trait of a bovine subject by determining the nucleotide occurrence of at least one bovine SNP that is identified herein as being associated with the trait. The inference is used in methods of the present invention to establish the economic value of a bovine subject, to improve profits related to selling beef from a bovine subject; to manage bovine subjects, to sort bovine subjects; to improve the genetics of a bovine population by selecting and breeding of bovine subjects, to clone a bovine subject with a specific trait, to track meat or another commercial product of a bovine subject; and to diagnose a health condition of a bovine subject.

  • Publication number: 20150191780
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for managing non-beef livestock subjects to maximize their individual potential performance and value of a product from the nonbeef livestock subjects, and to maximize profits obtained in marketing the non-beef livestock subjects. The methods and systems draw to an inference of a trait of a non-beef livestock subject by determining the nucleotide occurrence of at least one non-beef livestock SNP that is determined to be associated with the trait. The inference is used in methods to establish economic value of non-beef livestock subject, improve profits related to selling beef from non-beef livestock subject; manage non-beef livestock subjects, sort non-beef livestock subjects; improve the genetics of non-beef livestock population by selecting and breeding non-beef livestock subjects, clone non-beef livestock subject with a specific trait, track meat or another commercial product of a non-beef livestock subject; and diagnose a health condition of a non-beef livestock subject.

  • Patent number: RE44604
Abstract: A system for and a method of synchronous acquisition of pulsed source light performs monitoring of aircraft flight operation. Diode sources of illumination (18, 108, 208) are pulsed (16, 106, 206) at one-half the video frame rate of an imaging camera (36, 136, 236). Alternate frames view the world-scene with lights of interest pulsed on, and then off, respectively. Video differencing (34, 134, 234) eliminates the background scene, as well as all lights not of interest. Suitable threshholding over a resulting array of camera pixel-differences acquires the desired lights and represents them as point symbology on a display (40, 140, 240). In an enhanced vision landing system embodiment, the desired lights (symbols) overlay or are fused on a thermal image of the scene; alternatively, the symbols overlay a visible scene (TV) image.
