  • Publication number: 20090196029
Abstract: A lighting assembly includes a discharge lamp having a discharge tube with a longitudinal centerline reaching between opposite ends of the tube. A pair of electrodes are mounted at opposite ends of the discharge tube. The lamp has a pair of connectors each connected to a different corresponding one of the pair of electrodes. Each of the connectors have at least one pin (a) externally mounted alongside the discharge tube without extending past the ends of the tube, and (b) extending at an angle no greater than an acute angle relative to the centerline. The assembly also has a lamp fixture with an elongate housing and a pair of sockets mounted at opposite ends of the housing. Each of the sockets includes at least one longitudinal slot having an opening extending longitudinally between a proximal side of the slot and an open distal side of the slot. The longitudinal slot has an electrical contact.

  • Patent number: 7270443
Abstract: A directional lighting fixture can receive an elongated lamp. The fixture has a spaced pair of connective devices each having a barrel with an electrical contact adapted to connect to opposite ends of the lamp. A tubular lamp cover has a light transmissive section and a light reflective section. Each section is contiguous to the other and trough-shaped. The lamp cover is rotatably mounted around the barrels of the connective devices.

  • Publication number: 20050260610
Abstract: A patient is diagnosed and a regimen of treatment is prescribed in a system which tests the patients, receives test results from a patient, including DNA test results. A database of human genome data correlating human health disorder with DNA genetic tests is accessed. A database of environmental factors which correlate known human health disorders with environmental conditions is accessed. Risk factors including genetic risk and environmental risk are developed, and from these, a composite risk factor is developed. This is used to access a database of prescribed drug therapy.

  • Patent number: 6123224
Abstract: A system for conveying particulates which includes a trough adapted for receiving and holding the particulates being conveyed and a fluid operated, piston and cylinder mechanism for oscillating the trough. The mechanism allowing oscillation by first increasing rate and or fluid pressure to the cylinder, the piston being connected to the trough so that the fluid delivered to the piston at the gradually increasing rate drives the piston to a desired speed. A stop is also provided rapidly decelerating the trough, so that particulates carried in the trough may be accelerated to a desired speed by the piston and then rapidly decelerated with the stop, so that the momentum gained by the particulates received in the trough as the trough is accelerated allows the particulates to move relative to the trough when the trough is rapidly decelerated.
