Publication number: 20250105283Abstract: Embodiments of secondary batteries having electrode assemblies are provided. A secondary battery can comprise an electrode assembly having a stacked series of layers, the stacked series of layers having an offset between electrode and counter-electrode layers in a unit cell member of the stacked series. A set of constraints can be provided with a primary constraint system with first and second primary growth constraints separated from each other in a longitudinal direction, and connected by at least one primary connecting member, and a secondary constraint system comprises first and second secondary growth constraints separated in a second direction and connected by members of the stacked series of layers. The primary constraint system may at least partially restrain growth of the electrode assembly in the longitudinal direction, and the secondary constraint system may at least partially restrain growth in the second direction that is orthogonal to the longitudinal direction.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 9, 2024Publication date: March 27, 2025Inventors: Robert S. Patent number: 12232933Abstract: A dressing includes an application site covering and an oxygen scavenger provided with or positioned with respect to the application site covering so as to remove oxygen from a volume beneath the application site covering and around an application site covered by the application site covering. The application site covering and the oxygen scavenger are configured to maintain gas pressure beneath the application site covering around the application site that is above a therapeutic negative pressure while the oxygen scavenger is consuming oxygen beneath the application site covering.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2020Date of Patent: February 25, 2025Assignee: ADVANCED DRESSING, LLCInventors: Thomas E. Lash, Timothy Wojciechowski, John Buan, Richard L. Middaugh, Edward B. Armstrong

Publication number: 20250046812Abstract: Secondary batteries and methods of manufacture thereof are provided. A secondary battery can comprise an offset between electrode and counter-electrode layers in a unit cell. Secondary batteries can be prepared by removing a population of negative electrode subunits from a negative electrode sheet, the negative electrode sheet comprising a negative electrode sheet edge margin and at least one negative electrode sheet weakened region that is internal to the negative electrode sheet edge margin, removing a population of separator layer subunits from a separator sheet, and removing a population of positive electrode subunits from a positive electrode sheet, the positive electrode sheet comprising a positive electrode edge margin and at least one positive electrode sheet weakened region that is internal to the positive electrode sheet edge margin, and stacking members of the negative electrode subunit population, the separator layer subunit population and the positive electrode subunit population.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 5, 2024Publication date: February 6, 2025Inventors: Robert S. Patent number: 8650798Abstract: An algae bioreactor having a system and method for the efficient cultivation of algae in systems using in part or in full bioreactor chambers and other units wherein algae are grown in the presence of light and are then harvested for various uses including, but not limited to, for producing specific molecules, including recombinant molecules and other molecules produced from algae especially adapted to produce such molecules (including, but not limited to, nutraceuticals and industrial polymers and polymer subunits), as food products and components of food products, and as biofuel or components of biofuel. Further wherein the pH of the algae slurry is manipulated to allow for automated removal of algae adhered to the light permeable surfaces of the bioreactor.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 2010Date of Patent: February 18, 2014Assignee: Renewed World EnergiesInventors: Richard L. Armstrong, Timothy G. Tompkins

Publication number: 20030115608Abstract: A signal distribution method and apparatus which distribute higher quality signals in addition to standard signals, thereby enabling reception of higher quality picture and sound at a remote reception appliance. The method and apparatus also distribute digitally compressed signals in addition to standard signals, which also enables reception of higher quality picture and sound at the remote reception appliance. Finally, the method and apparatus distribute the higher quality signals and the digitally compressed signals to multiple reception appliances, located in a single family home environment or to multiple reception appliances within a multiple dwelling unit.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 15, 1999Publication date: June 19, 2003Inventors: RICHARD L. ARMSTRONG, MICHAEL J. SCOTT, WALTER R. KEPLEY, THOMAS JACKSON
