  • Patent number: 11598098
Abstract: A roof mount assembly implements a stabilized fastener matrix which functions to stabilize the fastener connection with a roof. In one embodiment, a base has a one-piece construction with angularly spaced stepped bores. Roofing fasteners each having a flat head are receivable in the bores and securable therein. Plugs each having a flat lower surface are threadably engageable in the threaded bore wherein the flat lower surface of the plug engages the flat head of the fastener. In a second embodiment, the base has a two-part construction comprising a bottom plate and a top plate. The bottom plate has a plurality of arcuate slots which are angularly spaced from one another. Elongated fasteners are received in the slots. A top plate has a crown and a connector projects from the crown. The top plate mounts onto the bottom plate to provide a stabilized connection with the roof. The mount assemblies are also efficiently sealable with the adjoining roof.

  • Patent number: 11407042
Abstract: A drilling tool has a working piece retained by a retainer mounted to a collar. The working piece includes a distal shank and a cutting section and is rotationally fixed relative to the retainer. The retainer may include an engagement protrusion positioned outward of the shank with the protrusion engaging an inner surface of the collar or the collar may include an engagement protrusion with the protrusion engaging an inner surface of the retainer to create a quasi-floating relationship between the retainer and collar. The cutting section may have a distal primary bore cutting sub-section and a proximal counterbore cutting sub-section. The collar includes a lower surface for abutment against a building member during drilling operation to halt axial movement of the tool.

  • Patent number: 10697483
Abstract: The tension bracket is configured to receive an elongated fastener to provide a connection under tension between a secondary structure and a principal support structure. The bracket has a mounting base with two substantially coplanar base sections having complementary opposed adjacent edges. The sections define a plurality of fastener openings and a profile opening. A guide member integrally extends from the sections and has parallel walls disposed above and extending perpendicular to the base sections. A pair of laterally spaced reinforcement ribs project perpendicularly from the base sections. In one embodiment, the tension bracket is formed from a single sheet of metal.

  • Patent number: 10017946
Abstract: A tool for marking the location of a bonding plate concealed beneath a roof membrane. The tool has a magnetic attraction to the bonding plate and causes a marking assembly to vertically lower toward the roof membrane and rotate on an axle. Rotation of the marking assembly and vertical lowering causes the marking implement to come into contact with the roof membrane at a location corresponding to the location of the bonding plate beneath the roof membrane. A brake restricts the rotation of the marking assembly on the axle by coming into contact with an inner edge of a chassis. Contact between the marking implement and the roof membrane and the restriction of rotation of the marking assembly by the brake cause the marking implement to create a visible mark at a position corresponding to the location of the bonding plate beneath the roof membrane.

  • Patent number: 9695860
Abstract: A screw for securing dense wood material has a head with a specially configured drive socket and an underside with an array of lobes. The lobes preferably have a left-handed orientation and have chamfered extremities. The shank is specially configured with an upper thread, an intermediate unthreaded portion and a lower thread which terminates with a half-point tip. In one embodiment, the upper thread major diameter is slightly smaller than the major diameter of the lower thread. The upper thread has a greater thread density than the lower thread. The upper to lower thread-per-inch density is preferably in the range of 1.3:1 to 1.7:1. The screw is specifically configured to assist in applications where there are wet fibers near the wood deck surface.
