  • Patent number: 5139169
Abstract: There is provided an improved carbonated drink dispensing system including a semi-rigid plastic collapsible bladder which holds the carbonated beverage and a dispensing apparatus which receives the semi-rigid bladder. The bladder includes a plurality of ribs to provide additional strength. The dispensing apparatus and bladder are generally cylindrical in shape. The dispensing apparatus includes a top pressure plate for applying downward pressure to the top of the bladder as the beverage is dispensed thereby collapsing a portion of the bladder so as to keep appropriate pressure within the bag thus preventing the escape of carbonation from the beverage. A gearing mechanism to provide a mechanical advantage is utilized in connection with the movement of the pressure plate.
