Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for a restraint system. In one embodiment, a retractor assembly for a restraint system includes a retractor body defining a retractor axis and a retractor spool coupled to the retractor body. The retractor spool is configured to accept a retractor belt. A pivot component is configured to rotatably secure the retractor body to a mounting structure such that, when a loading force is applied to the retractor spool via the retractor belt, the retractor axis rotates to substantially align with the loading force.

Abstract: A seatbelt system for a vehicle having a vehicle structure and a seat operatively connected to the vehicle structure includes first and second anchors. Each of the first and second anchors is connected to the vehicle structure. The system also includes complementary first and second buckle elements. The first buckle element is configured to engage the second buckle element and fasten thereto. The system additionally includes a first belt connecting the first anchor to the first buckle element and a second belt connecting the second buckle element to the second anchor. The system additionally includes a buckle presenter connecting the second buckle element to the second anchor and having a form configured to present the second buckle element to a user of the seatbelt system. The form of the buckle presenter varies under an applied force and is recovered when the force is removed.

Abstract: A seat belt system for a vehicle having a vehicle structure and a seat operatively connected to the vehicle structure includes a lap belt having a first end and a second end. The first end of the lap belt includes a buckle element and the second end of the lap belt includes a belt link. The seat belt system also includes a cable having a first end and a second end. The first end of the cable is connected to an anchor and the second end of the cable includes a ferrule. The seat belt system additionally includes a hinge operatively connecting the belt link to the ferrule. The hinge operates to pivot the belt link relative to the ferrule when an occupant of the vehicle is positioned in the seat and restrained by the seatbelt system.
