Abstract: A system and method of using an adaptable interface for a medical device such as a scale. The scale includes a memory, a display, a processor, and a measurement component to measure one or more characteristics of a subject, such as height or weight. The adaptable interface includes a reconfigurable driver module that enables communication with different Electronic Health Record (“EHR”) systems. The interface can download new drivers or update drivers to reconfigure the driver module. The reconfigured driver module is then configured to communicate with an EHR system according to the particular EHR system communication protocol. The adaptable interface is modular and includes one or more mounting adapters to enable coupling to adjustable interface mounting assembly. The adjustable interface mounting assembly is also operable to receive other modular interface units.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for facilitating analysis of data in a data base. The data base data is displayed on a touch sensitive screen. A calculator icon is overlayed on the data. A user selects a function, such as "TOTAL," by touching a corresponding function button displayed as part of the calculator icon. The user then selects the data to be totaled by touching a row header or column header for the data rows or columns he wishes to include in the calculation. Once the data for the calculation is selected, a "=" icon is touched, and a new row or column holding the results of the calculation is inserted into the displayed data. The calculation is displayed in a window of the calculator icon as the calculation is built by the user.

Abstract: A software reminder procedure that allows a user to save a display screen displayed by a currently executing process as part of a reminder message for later recall. The reminder message can be saved without exiting or ending the currently executing process. The display (and therefore the reminder) can be text, electronic mail messages, graphic screen displays, single screen displays, or multiple screen displays. Certain types of reminders are automatically updated when the data from which they were created is updated, so that a most current version is always displayed.
