  • Patent number: 7637305
Abstract: A slide assembly for use in a molding or casting system includes a cam pin, a slide base and a core slide. The cam pin includes a head for securing with a first die half, and a two-stage shank extending from the head. The slide base is mountable to a second die half and the core slide is slidably engaged with the slide base. The core slide includes a core pin for extending into a die cavity of the molding or casting system, and a cam pin slot for receiving the two-stage shank of the cam pin such that one-speed relative motion between the cam pin and the slide base produces a two-speed relative motion between the core slide and the slide base.

  • Patent number: 7631851
Abstract: A gas purging block for use with injection molding and die casting systems comprises a stationary-side block for connecting to a stationary mold or die half, and a movable-side block for connecting to a movable mold or die half. The stationary-side block comprises a recessed cooling face having a first smooth contour extending between a first side and a second side of the stationary-side block to increase the surface area of the recessed cooling face. The movable-side block comprises a protruding cooling face having a second smooth contour extending between a first side and a second side of the movable-side block to increase the surface area of the protruding cooling face.

  • Patent number: 7600445
Abstract: The present invention is a universal slide assembly for molding or casting systems used to introduce complex designs to moldings and castings, which is cost effective, easy to install, and easy to operate, and includes a base, a slide, and a retention means. The base is directly insertable into a die half for immediate use without requiring the slide to be individually designed or adapted to a particular die half. The retention means provides a means for retaining the slide in a retracted position, preventing the slide from accidentally moving.

  • Patent number: 7044192
Abstract: A runner cooling block for use in a die casting system comprises a spreader block, a spreader, a bushing block, a sprue bushing and a water jacket. The sprue bushing comprises a sprue channel running through an interior of the sprue bushing and a cooling channel running circumferentially around an exterior surface of the sprue. The sprue bushing, water jacket and bushing block are assembled to allow cooling water to pass through the cooling channel. The spreader block and the bushing block are assembled such that the spreader is centrally located within the sprue channel wherein molten metal is allowed to pass through the sprue channel for passage into the runner system. The cooling channel includes at least one circumferential heat transfer contour to provide increased heat dissipation to enhance cooling of the molten metal passing through the sprue channel.
