  • Patent number: 8522304
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are described for monitoring and configuring home networks for a variety of purposes such as, for example, facilitating secure communications between the home network and a remote network, and facilitating provision of a service by a service provider such as, for example, a cellular carrier.

  • Patent number: 8255681
Abstract: A network and associated methods and apparatus are described. The network includes a wireless access node which is operable to receive first packets from a plurality of wireless computing devices attempting to access the network. Each of the first packets corresponds to one of a plurality of traffic types. At least one of the traffic types corresponds to an encrypted wireless protocol. The wireless access node is configured to associate one of a plurality of identifiers with each of the first packets. Each of the plurality of identifiers corresponds to one of the plurality of traffic types. The wireless access node is further configured to transmit all first packets received from the wireless computing devices to a gateway on the network regardless of destination addresses associated with the first packets. The gateway is operable to determine that a particular one of the first packets from a first one of the wireless computing devices is directed to a second computing device on the network.

  • Patent number: 7474617
Abstract: Techniques are described for detecting use of a network access node by multiple users to gain access to a network. Packets are received from a network device in communication with the network access node. The packets are evaluated with reference to a plurality of metrics. Each of the metrics is independently representative of an estimated number of user devices from which the packets originate.

  • Publication number: 20080089237
Abstract: A system and method are provided for dynamic network traffic prioritization. The method can include the operation of offering a plurality of network traffic prioritization options to a user on a network. A user selected network traffic prioritization option can be communicated to a network configuration device through the network. Another operation is using the network configuration device to configure a plurality of networking devices dynamically. This can provide network prioritization through the network based on the user's selected network traffic prioritizations.

  • Publication number: 20030206180
Abstract: A system and method for combining inputs from differently formatted graphics and video sources to create an electronically displayable image. The system includes at least one generative computer graphics input and at least one digital video input. A color space converter is used for each generative computer graphics input and each digital video input in order to convert each input into a common display format. A blending unit is also included that is coupled to the color space converters. The blending unit blends the common display format from each generative computer graphics input and digital video input. The blended output in the common display format can be stored in the frame buffer.
