Patent number: 7201406Abstract: A device for operating a lock assembly for a door or window assembly has a first configuration when mounted in a right hand door and a second sonfiguration when mounted in a left hand door. The device has a handle having a first position and a second position. A member is operably connected to the handle. The member has structure adapted to cooperate with the lock assembly such that the first position of the handle when the member is adapted to be connected to the lock assembly in the first configuration is the same as the first position of the handle when the member is adapted to be connected to the lock assembly in the second configuration.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2004Date of Patent: April 10, 2007Assignee: Newell Operating CompanyInventors: Christopher G. Walls, Richard L. Green

Patent number: 5927351Abstract: An improved drawing station system for handling radioactive material for use in syringes in the health care industry. The system includes a drawing station, a syringe shield and two different radiopharmaceutical pigs. The drawing station has a base with a support and two arms mounted thereto to support a first radiopharmaceutical pig enclosing a container of radioactive material. The radiopharmaceutical pig is releasably mounted to the second arm so that the radiopharmaceutical pig is pivotable about two predetermined axes to position the container for penetration by the syringe needle to draw radioactive material from the container into the syringe.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 1997Date of Patent: July 27, 1999Assignee: Syncor International Corp.Inventors: Bing Bing Zhu, Monty Mong Chen Fu, Richard L. Green, Haig S. Bagerdjian

Patent number: 5834788Abstract: An improved radiation dense container for transporting radioactive iodine and the like, including a cup-shaped base having a cavity with an opening that is sized to receive radioactive iodine in the form of either one or more iodine capsules or a vial of iodine solution. The vial has a cap with a septum through which the radioactive iodine solution can be withdrawn from the vial in situ by an oral radioisotope administration set. A lid threadedly engages the base over the cavity opening to substantially seal it when threaded in place and to allow the insertion and removal of the radioactive iodine when removed. The base and the lid are both formed of tungsten. The container includes one or more activated charcoal filters to absorb any gases given off by the radioactive iodine when sealed in the cavity. An inner cup-shaped container and cap, made of plastic and sized and configured for a close fit within the base cavity, may be utilized to conveniently hold the capsules or, optionally, the vial.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 1997Date of Patent: November 10, 1998Assignee: Syncor International Corp.Inventors: Monty Mong Chen Fu, Bing Bing Zhu, Richard L. Green, Chris K. Fitz

Patent number: 5828073Abstract: An improved radiopharmaceutical pig assembly and method for handling syringes containing radioactive material for use in the health care industry. The radiopharmaceutical pig assembly is preferably made of tungsten, is advantageously small, lightweight and has a dual function of also providing shielding for the syringe body during discharge of the syringe. An optional hand shield is also provided.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 1997Date of Patent: October 27, 1998Assignee: Syncor International CorporationInventors: Bing Bing Zhu, Monty Mong Chen Fu, Richard L. Patent number: 5755011Abstract: An adjustable hinge including a first hinge member having a hinge sleeve and a second hinge member having a guide, with a door leaf coupled to the second hinge member and having at least one tab received within the guide for guiding movement therealong, the door leaf also coupled to the first hinge member and received within the hinge sleeve, allowing selective pivotal movement of the first hinge member relative to the second hinge member about a rotational axis extending in a vertical direction. The adjustable hinge features a vertical adjustment mechanism received within the hinge sleeve allowing selective movement of the first hinge member relative to the second hinge member in the vertical direction, and a horizontal adjustment mechanism within a cavity formed within the second hinge member with at least one tab of the door leaf is guidably moved along the guide, allowing selective movement of the first hinge member relative to the second hinge member in a horizontal direction.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 1995Date of Patent: May 26, 1998Assignee: Newell Operating CompanyInventors: Richard L. Green, Scott J. Rote, Michael D. Smith, William T. DeBruyn, Thomas M. Wright

Patent number: 4440517Abstract: An adjustably extensible torque-multiplier breaker-bar for applying variable torques to a tool headpiece. The device employs a telescoping inner member received within a sleeve member thus comprising a breaker-bar which permits the user to exploit the advantages of the principles of physics involved. An outer sleeve member carries a slideably adjustable inner member such that both members provide cooperatively for stepped length adjustment so as to shorten or lengthen the overall longitudinal dimension of the telescoping breaker-bar. Such extension and retraction allows a user to modify the mechanical advantage of the tool in accordance with mechanical theories of physics.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 1981Date of Patent: April 3, 1984Inventors: Michael A. Potter, Richard L. Green

Patent number: 4312393Abstract: There is disclosed herein a book-like coupon organizer for carrying and arranging various types and size cents-off coupons and refund offers, by designated product categories. The organizer includes front and back panels which are hingedly connected and a plurality of coupon-receiving pockets on the inner surface of said panels, said pockets extending transversely to said hinge connecting said panels. The panels are formed of rigid panel-forming members arranged in spaced edge-to-edge relation and heat-sealable inner and outer plastic sheets. Step-folded pocket-forming sheets and the inner and outer sheets are heat-sealed together so as to encase the panel-forming members as well as forming the hinge.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1980Date of Patent: January 26, 1982Inventor: Richard L.
