  • Patent number: 4591187
Abstract: A device for retaining a book, such as a telephone directory, in a holder or on a flat surface, in order to prevent unauthorized removal or theft of the book. A plurality of pin-like retainer members are mounted in a pair of mounting members in laterally spaced, parallel relation. The number of retainers is determined by the thickness of the book. The pointed ends of the pin-like retainer members are shifted into the ends of the book and the assembly is secured either to the flat surface or to a support bar that is riveted or otherwise secured to the inner surface of the back of the holder. The pin-like retainers are frictionally retained either in a series of laterally spaced slots or bores in the mounting members so as not to be removable therefrom without the use of a tool and a substantial amount of force.

  • Patent number: 4323290
Abstract: A telephone enclosure assembly and directory holder device for use with indoor/outdoor telephone installations. The enclosure includes a one-piece cast or molded plastic housing shell. Side panels can be fastened to the shell and a security lock clip permits the panels to be locked in place but readily replaced in the event of sidewall damage or vandalism. A directory holder is attached to the shell and is capable of storing several directories which can be rotated from a closed position to an open position, allowing each reader to comfortably view all printed matter on each and every page of the directory.

  • Patent number: 3979539
Abstract: A method and apparatus for making a sheet molding compound. A thickened uncured thermosetting resin mix is supplied as a thin coating to a sheet of plastic film and chopped fibers are deposited on the resin film to provide a composite laminate. The side edges of the plastic film are then folded inwardly in a double fold and the laminate is wound in coiled form. Kneading rolls having ribbed surfaces ride against the coiled laminate to provide a thorough impregnation of the resin and fibers.
