  • Patent number: 9906078
Abstract: A magneto-energy apparatus includes an electromagnetic field source for generating a time-varying electromagnetic field. A graphite foam conductor is disposed within the electromagnetic field. The graphite foam when exposed to the time-varying electromagnetic field conducts an induced electric current, the electric current heating the graphite foam to produce light. An energy conversion device utilizes light energy from the heated graphite foam to perform a light energy consuming function. A device for producing light and a method of converting energy are also disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 22, 2014
Date of Patent: February 27, 2018
Assignees: UT-BATTELLE, LLC, SPECTRUM FML, INC.
Inventors: James W. Klett, Orlando Rios, Richard L. Moyers, John E. Monk, Roger Kisner

  • Patent number: 4260429
Abstract: In a photovoltaic cell which comprises a first electrode, a first layer of cadmium sulfide, a second layer of cuprous sulfide forming a barrier junction with said first layer, and a second electrode, the improvement wherein said second electrode is formed by coating a conducting metal wire with a solid polymer containing electrically conductive particles, and attaching the coated wire to the cuprous sulfide layer by the application of moderate heat and/or pressure.

  • Patent number: 4203556
Abstract: A grinding device is disclosed in which material to be ground is fed axially to a rotating plate on which two sets of blades are mounted. A first inner set of slinger blades forces the material outwardly to a second set of grinding blades. The inner edges of the grinding blades are tilted forward of the outer edges thereof in the direction of blade rotation. Also, the grinding blades are adjustably supported on support plates.

  • Patent number: 3993726
Abstract: Methods of making continuous length articles of reinforced plastic material includes passing rovings of temperature resistant material through a crosshead extruder to impregnate the rovings with a thermoplastic polymer under high pressure. The impregnated rovings are pulled from the extruder through a die and are cooled and shaped into a void free article having a desired cross-sectional shape.
