Also, the at least one light emitting diode (7) may be positioned at a back surface of the diffuser, such that when an active material is received in the compartment the at least one light emitting diode (7) shines through the active material. The diffuser may include a remote-use assembly to supply power to the diffuser from a wall socket remote from the diffuser. The diffuser may also include a light controller to change one or more of the color and the intensity of the at least one light emitting diode (7).

Spray nozzles are mounted to the underside of the power foot to direct a water based cleaning solution to the surface to be cleaned.

    Abstract: A vacuum cleaner convertible between a hand-held vacuum and a stick-type vacuum including a housing having a rondure first end and narrowing to a generally oblate, low profile nozzle at a second end, defining an opening in fluid communication with an interior of the housing. A releasably extensible dirt cup is slidably disposed within the opening in the second end and adapted to move between a retracted position within the housing and an extended position from said housing. The free end of the dirt cup is adapted to detachably retain a floor cleaning tool having a pivoting cleaning head for use on floors or other surfaces to be cleaned. The housing contains means for drawing high velocity air into the elongate dirt cup through the floor cleaning tool and/or free end of the elongate dirt cup so as to entrain dirt and debris and capture it within the dirt cup.

    Abstract: An extractor having a cleaning solution line which extends from the solution tank to a non-self-priming pump and to the normally closed valve which controls the flow of liquid on to the cleaning head. The extractor uses a manually operated priming pump to draw cleaning solution from the solution tank through the cleaning solution line to the non-self-priming pump. Following activation of the manually operated priming pump, a check valve directs the cleaning solution to the operating non-self-priming pump to effect priming of said pump. Solution is then controlably pumped past the fluid flow control valve to the cleaning head. The check valve remains open while the pump is in operation.

    Abstract: A wet vacuum/extractor having a first cleaning solution line which extends from a cleaning solution tank to a non-self-priming pump and a second cleaning solution line which extends from the pump to a normally closed fluid flow control valve which controls the flow of liquid on to the cleaning head. The vacuum priming system of the present invention opens the second cleaning solution line to the vacuum generated between the cleaning head and the vacuum fan. This vacuum beyond the output of the pump draws solution from the solution tank into the operating pump. Once the pump is thus primed, the second cleaning solution line is closed to the vacuum and the pump now pumps the solution past the closed fluid flow control valve to the cleaning head.

    Abstract: An electric oven toaster construction wherein a unique cam follower and rotatable cam accurately sets the threshold temperature of a thermostat switch. The rotatable cam includes relatively steep rise surfaces and the cam follower includes a generally flat mounting portion, a short blade portion and a slide portion in contact with the rotatable cam. An adjusting screw is threaded through the short blade portion close to the mounting portion. With this construction, the rotary position of the cam may be manually adjusted to accurately move the short blade portion and the adjusting screw to accurately move a thermostat switch contact only approximately one-third of the distance that the steep cam surfaces move the cam follower to accurately set the position of the thermostat switch contact to set the threshold temperature of the oven toaster.

    Abstract: A toaster-oven appliance has a control circuit which enables a user to program the operation of the appliance through a keyboard with audible feedback and which includes functional keys for selecting one mode of operation from available BAKE, BROIL, SLOW COOK, TIMER and TOAST modes, and numerical keys for entering a temperature, time interval and toast color. The BAKE and BROIL functions may be used with the TIMER function to provide TIME-BAKE and TIME-BROIL functions. An interactive digital display is provided to display a user selected function, temperature, time interval, or an error indication in the event that an impermissible entry is made. In the presently preferred embodiment that is described, the control circuit includes microprocessor-based programmable digital logic. The microprocessor operates under the direction of a master program.
