Patent number: 8647184Abstract: An adaptable vent baffle mountable to an underside of a roof deck and to a wall plate of a building structure between a pair of roof rafters having a rafter spacing for permitting ventilation between a soffit and an attic space of the building structure. A main body portion has a longitudinal axis and is positioned generally on a main body place. A spacer extends from the main body portion and a tail portion is hingedly mounted to the main body portion. The main body portion and tail portion include first and second side edges and a baffle width is defined between the first and second side edges. At least one line of weakness extends generally parallel to the longitudinal axis for modifying the baffle width to adapt to the rafter spacing.Type: GrantFiled: July 29, 2008Date of Patent: February 11, 2014Assignee: Brentwood Industries, Inc.Inventors: Matt Kortuem, Palle Rye, Dave Rosten, Richard L. Patent number: 8079293Abstract: A perforating machine for perforating a plurality of perforation lines in a vent baffle sheet comprises a support table having two spaced apart openings, perforating wheels, two backstop wheels, and an endless feed belt having a plurality of protrusions. The perforating wheels and the two backstop wheels are positioned on opposite side of the support table. The perforating wheels engage with the two backstop wheels through the two spaced apart openings. The endless feed belt has an upper portion and a lower portion. The lower portion of the endless feed belt is positioned above the support table. The protrusions on the lower portion of the endless feed belt engage with side stiffeners of the vent baffle sheet to move the sheet through the perforating wheels.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2007Date of Patent: December 20, 2011Assignee: Brentwood Industries, Inc.Inventors: Matt Kortuem, Palle Rye, Dave Rosten, Richard L. Patent number: 7856764Abstract: A vent baffle assembly provides air ventilation in a cathedral ceiling having rafter beams and roof sheathing. The vent baffle assembly includes a first vent sheet and a second vent sheet. The first vent sheet has first and second ends, first and second longitudinal ribs and a first lateral stiffener extending generally perpendicularly to the ribs. The second vent sheet includes third and fourth ends, third and fourth longitudinal ribs, and a second lateral stiffener extending perpendicularly to the ribs. The first vent sheet is positioned between adjacent rafters with the ribs oriented parallel to the rafters. The second vent sheet overlaps the first vent sheet with respective ribs interengaged to limit lateral movement of the first vent sheet relative to the second vent sheet. The first lateral stiffener engages the second lateral stiffener to limit longitudinal movement of the first vent sheet relative to the second vent sheet.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 2007Date of Patent: December 28, 2010Assignee: Brentwood Industries, Inc.Inventors: Matt Kortuem, Palle Rye, Dave Rosten, Richard L. Patent number: 7094145Abstract: A single-piece vent baffle and method of installing a vent baffle. The vent baffle includes a main body portion and a tail portion and a first face and a second face. The main body portion includes at least one spacer extending from the first face. The vent baffle may be installed to an underside of a roof and to a wall plate by positioning the spacer adjacent the underside of the roof to create an air flow channel between the underside of the roof and the first face. The vent baffle blocks an opening between the roof and the wall plate while allowing ventilating air to flow through the air flow channel.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2004Date of Patent: August 22, 2006Assignee: Brentwood Industries, Inc.Inventors: Palle Rye, Dave Rosten, Richard L. Patent number: 6719139Abstract: A package for holding an article has a front portion with a sheet generally defining a plane and has an outer rim. The package also has a back portion with an area and an outer periphery. The back portion is configured to be secured to said front portion. An inner opening is defined by the back portion so that the inner opening has an area substantially smaller than the area of the back portion. A separately formed first blister is shaped for defining a first pocket configured for receiving at least a portion of the article. The first blister also has a peripheral edge configured for attachment to the back portion in a region of the inner opening of the back portion.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 2000Date of Patent: April 13, 2004Assignee: Plastofilm Industries, Inc.Inventors: Douglas E. Patent number: 5634559Abstract: A package tray configured for use with at least one other such tray in forming reclosable enclosed packages includes a recess portion having an upper edge, a flange portion projecting from the upper edge and having upper and lower sides, at least one snap fastener of a first type located on the flange portion, and at least one snap fastener of a second type located on the flange portion in spaced relationship to the at least one fastener of the first type. Each of the first and second type fasteners is configured to be fastenable on both said upper and lower sides of said flange portion to opposing fasteners of like package trays. The first and second type fasteners are disposed on the flange portion so that when multiples of the package trays are placed in vertically stacked relationship, at least one opposing pair of the fasteners on adjacent trays engage each other to secure the trays together in one of a nested and an opposing relationship.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 1995Date of Patent: June 3, 1997Assignee: Plastofilm Industries, Inc.Inventors: Douglas E. Foos, Todd O. Buck, Richard L. Partlow, Jr.

Patent number: 5060828Abstract: A thermoformed package/dispenser for bbs and other kinds of small balls has a cover rotatably mounted on a cup-shaped base to close the package or convert it into a dispenser. Detent stop structure is built in integrally with the base and cover to hold the cover in a desired open or closed package position. A knockout may be provided in the cover to package and dispense balls larger than those for which the package was primarily designed. Interlocking peripheral flanges demountably hold base and cover together with friction assured to hold the cover in a predetermined position. At least a portion of the package may be transparent so that the ball load may be observed.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 1990Date of Patent: October 29, 1991Assignee: Plastofilm Industries, Inc.Inventors: David B.
