    Abstract: A tag useful for being applied to a first item, such as a sock, as an indication that the item is intended to be used with a second tagged item, such as a matching sock in a pair of socks. The tag has a first end portion, a second end portion, a flexible intermediate portion extending between the first and second end portions, and a latching mechanism. The flexible intermediate portion is movable between first and second operative positions wherein the first and second end portions are spaced apart in the first operative position and are adjacent in the second operative position. The latching mechanism is coupled to the first and second portions and is adapted to maintain the first and second end portions in the second operative position. In one embodiment, the tag is clipped and latched onto a sock in the second operative position.
