  • Patent number: 7327061
Abstract: One aspect of the invention is a generator with at least two commutators mounted on a rotatable shaft. At least two magnetically conductive bars may be mounted in an opposed relationship with at least one of the bars passing through a wire coil. At least two magnets may also be mounted in an opposed relationship. The bars and magnets may be mounted such that they extend between the commutators. In various positions, a magnetic field passes through the two commutators, one of the bars and one of the magnets. The magnet field in the bars changes due to rotation of the shaft and current is induced into the wire coil.

  • Patent number: 5370440
Abstract: A vehicle seat assembly (10) includes a backrest member (14) pivotably coupled to a seat member (12) for enabling the seat to pivot between a generally upright design position (D) and a reclined position (R). An inertia responsive latch mechanism (18) is operative in response to the assembly (10) being subjected to sudden acceleration forces, as when the vehicle is involved in a rearend collision, for locking the back rest member (14) against rearward pivotal movement toward the reclined position (R).

  • Patent number: 4964608
Abstract: A seat adjuster particularly adapted for motor vehicle seats. The seat adjuster enables fore-and-aft movement of the seat and also provides an anchorage point for a seat belt restraint system which moves with the seat during adjustment. The seat adjuster includes a fixed base adapted for attachment to the vehicle's floor pan which forms an elongated toothed rack. A sliding rail which moves along the base includes a latching mechanism. The latching mechanism has a latching plate which is movable vertically and includes engagement features which mesh with the toothed rack on the base. In the normal condition, the latching plate is in an upward vertically moved position in engagement with the toothed rack thereby setting the adjusted position of the seat and providing firm support for the seat belt anchorage attached to the latching mechanism. When adjustment is desired, a release bar is actuated which moves the latching plate downward thereby disengaging the engagement features.
