  • Patent number: 7700852
Abstract: Isolated polynucleotides encoding polypeptides active in the fructan, cellulose, starch and/or tannin biosynthetic pathways are provided, together with expression vectors and host cells comprising such isolated polynucleotides. Methods for the use of such polynucleotides and polypeptides are also provided.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 31, 2007
Date of Patent: April 20, 2010
Inventors: Jeroen Demmer, Michael Andrew Shenk, Matthew Glenn, Michael Geoffrey Norriss, Keith Martin Saulsbury, Claire Hall, Richard L. S. Forster
  • Patent number: 7071380
Abstract: The present application discloses plant polynucleotides, their encoded polypeptide sequences, and sRNA sequences which are putative regulators of long-distance florigenic signaling and flowering control. Methods of using these sequences related to long-distance florigenic signalling, including modifying the occurrence, timing and extent of flower development by modulating the florigenic signaling pathway, are also disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 30, 2004
Date of Patent: July 4, 2006

  • Publication number: 20030221211
Abstract: DNA constructs useful for suppressing the expression of targeted genes are provided. The constructs encode an RNA molecule with a stem-loop structure that is unrelated to the target gene and that is positioned distally to a sequence specific for the gene of interest. Methods of suppressing the expression of selected genes and transformed hosts also are described. In one embodiment, the DNA constructs and methods are used to selectively suppress gene expression in plants and plant cells.
