    Abstract: Embodiments hereof relate to a guidewire formed from an elongated shaft, at least a portion of the shaft having an outer layer, a plurality of channels formed through the outer layer, and an inner core. The outer layer is formed from a material non susceptible to erosion by an erosion agent and the inner core is formed from a radiopaque material susceptible to erosion by the erosion agent. When exposed to the erosion agent, core material adjacent to the channels is removed to form a pattern of integral radiopaque segments or markers with a plurality of voids therebetween. By controlling the location of channels and the rate of erosion of the core material, the pattern of integral radiopaque segments and voids allow for in situ measurement when viewed under fluoroscopy.

The secondary lines are shorter than 0.2 mil. Alternatively, the reticle further incorporates at least one post on at least one end of the primary lines with post hash marks thereon. Each the intersecting lines forms one of the plurality of measuring points.

    Abstract: A hydraulic elevator system for monitoring a cold oil thermostat mounted on a hydraulic oil reservoir to prewarm the oil prior to passenger service by recirculating the oil in the reservoir through a pumping path which goes past up and down valves, thus bypassing the hydraulic jack. A control circuit including a microprocessor generally controls all car and corridor functions and is photo-coupled to the thermostat for an input signal which interacts with a program module in a random access memory which is run in sequence by the microprocessor. The program module provides a minimum timer phase for pump motor energization which is short but normally adequate to circulate the oil to standard minimum operating temperature before the sequencing activates a maximum timer phase which is cumulative in time for continuous bypassing until shutdown. The tiered total timer counting thus prevents overtemperature problems to avoid damage to the pump motor windings if the thermostat fails and also prevents recycling.

    Abstract: A telescopic sight having objective lenses, intermediate lenses and an eyepiece is provided with an adjustable reticle device which is disposed in the second focal plane intermediate the eyepiece and said intermediate lenses. The adjustable reticle device is provided with a fixed center line reticle and two identical moveable reticles located on opposite sides of the center line reticle. The moveable reticles are each supported by a carrier which is moveable in two orthogonal directions by means of two threaded stems carried by the body of the adjustable reticle device. The stems are each provided with knurled knobs each of which has two arrows thereon disposed at right angles to each other on the side of knob facing the shooter so that the shooter can readily determine the direction of movement of bullet impact upon rotation of a knob in any specific direction.

    Abstract: An acoustic detection system comprising two arrays of omnidirectional sensors or hydrophones wherein the sensors in each array are disposed along a curved line, such as an arc of a cylindrical surface. Accordingly an acoustic signal or wavefront propagating along any vector within the arc is registered by the respective sensors as phase lags determined by the locations thereof. The respective sensor output signals are each connected to a preselected electrical delay circuit such that the registered phase lags are further increased. The delayed sensor signals are then summed for each array, forming two directional beams and the signal sum for each array is then connected to identical narrow bandpass filters. The output of each filter is fed to a hard limiter, then to a differentiator and the output signals of the differentiators control a bistable flip-flop producing a pulse train where the width of each pulse corresponds to the phase lag difference between the beam signals.
